“Great Hotel”

went in July 2011, 2 nights executive floor room. High floor so great view over the Nile. Room spacious, well equipped, clean, bed very comfy, great bathroom & shower. Access to executive floor private lounge for breakfast, snacks/sandwiches/tapas & drinks all complimentary! Cocktail hour also between 7-8pm .All excellent and treated like a queen ! Staff provided excellent service, helped with train booking, taxis etc . Pool lovely, served with iced water & cool facecloths! Great value. Several restaurants in hotel, ate there both nights, again great food but pricey. Staff recommended taxi driver outside hotel who took us to main attractions in Cairo, door to door & waited for us ! Very reasonable & safe. We felt safe in Cairo doing the tourist sites. Also took Ist class sleeper tourist train from Luxor to Cairo & back, was an experience, safe but not quite my idea of ist class!! Great, trip of a lifetime for us.

“Best Hotel we stayed at in Egypt ... but you'll pay for it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Let me start by saying this hotel was absolutely 5 stars, but it has a 5 star price tag. Compared to every other hotel we stayed in Egypt, this was very expensive. Basically it is the same price for the rooms, food, internet as we would pay back in Australia.

Aside from the cost, this hotel is fantastic. The breakfast buffet is the biggest and best I've seen in my life. We stayed here from 22-25 Dec 2011 and then again on 6-8th Jan 2012. On both occasions we had booked a Deluxe King Room - Nile View. The room was on the 19th floor and had fantastic views over the Nile and Zamalek. When we returned to our hotel after a day of sightseeing on Christmas Eve, there was a complimentary plate of Christmas themed biscuits and chocolates from the in-hotel patisserie, which was a lovely touch. The Asian restaurant is fantastic and so is the all day dining at Solara. We opted not to eat at the Grill restaurant because of the price.

The internet is not free, but it is available in the Business Centre. There is also a hairdresser, bank, casino and shop within the hotel. There are plenty of cars out the front of the hotel to take you anywhere you want, but a local taxi will be much cheaper.
The hotel offers a 2nd service in the evening to provide you with more water, nibbles etc. There is also a pillow service where you can choose what type of pillow you'd like. This was really good for me, and helped me get a much better night's sleep than I would've otherwise got.

I will most likely stay here when I return to Cairo later this year.

“You can't afford a drink here..........!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

AU$110 for miniature scotch from mini bar in room PLUS the cost of can of mixer........... needless to say I'm glad my husband checked the prices before he opened the miniature!!!! He went downstairs to the bar and asked the cost of a scotch and coke and it was AU$85. NO THANKS, came back to room and made a complimentary cup of coffee instead..Phhhhhhh. Room was what you would expect for a Conrad Hotel.

“Good Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We stayed at the Conrad in October. It was part of a package travel deal so I did not pick it myself. However, it was pleasantly surprised. The staff was wonderful. There were a few morning that we had to get up before they started serving breakfast and they had a breakfast box waiting that we could take with us. That was so helpful.

The rooms were above average and the beds were comforatable. The bathroom had a great walk-in shower and a big tub. We had a view of the Nile but did not spend much time on the balcony because of all the smog.

“Good location overlooking Nile and within walking distance to shopping centre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights while we were exploring Cairo. The hotel staff were very friendly and efficient. Our deluxe room was clean and comfortable, with an opening balcony with Nile River views. We did a little exploring around the hotel and found a shopping centre about 300-400metres down the road if you come out of the hotel and turn right. It had shoes, handbags, clothes, electrical items, suitcases etc and a food mall. There were also ATMs there. We also caught a taxi into town one day - the taxi ride cost 10. The Conrad Hotel was in a good location. The restaurants at the hotel served very nice food and breakfast in the morning was also excellent. We enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: You must get a Nile River view room!
