The best thing about staying at the Garden City House is that you are just a few feet from some of the most expensive hotels in Egypt and you are paying a fraction of the price. The Garden City area is an ideal location for exploring Cairo. It's an easy walk to the city center and practically steps from the Nile River.
I found the hotel itself to be a adequate. My room was large, had it's own balcony and the air condition worked well. There was no television and the wifi only worked in the lobby and occasionally outside on my balcony. The room was a bit dingy and is definitely showing its age, but I was comfortable. The staff were helpful and the price was unbeatable.
If staying at the hotel you should watch out for the two Papyrus shops on either side of the building, they lure tourist in, close the door and try and sell that crap for very high prices.
