“Perfection -- on All Counts -- THE Place to Stay in Cairo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

Location -- Right on the Nile -- Beautiful views... of Nile, Sunsets, Boats, City, Museum,
Bridges, Towers,
You can even take out your zoom lens or binoculars and see the pyramids.
You are just a few blocks from the subway and T Square !
And less than a block from the Best Egyptian Museum in all of Egypt.
The ride to the Airport and Pyramids was 1/2 hr, but very interesting.

Service - The people in every area...are there for you.
Everything you could want and more.
You can get a room fit for a king with 2 TVs and all Antiques etc.

Value Great Value... probably greater now. Much less that you would expect.

Sleep Quality -- Excellent both from sound and bed comfort.

Cleanliness -- outstanding...every where. room, public areas and restaurants.

Restaurant -- I cannot say enough about the quality, and variety of the excellent Mediterranean Foods... The Nile has provide bountiful foods for eons and the Nile Hilton takes advantage of this fresh bounty. Although we traveled all over Egypt, we found none better. They even give you a bottle of water as you leave for the day !!!

Spa -- Did not use the spa services, but the pools were oasis like.

Great - Beginning and End to my Visit to Egypt..

ps: I really liked the people of Eygypt. Entrepreneurial, aggressive, proud, hard working, blunt and fun.. eager to help. From Cairo to Alexandria, to a multiday cruise on the Nile to Luxor, Valley of the Kings, Aswan, Abal Symbal plus -- wonderful. This is only one person's opinion, but I would not hesitate to travel their since the oust of the President. Their Tourism Industry is their top one. They have a special extensive Tourism Security Organization to make sure that know one !!! messes with tourism and their livelihood.

No complaints....I've been to Egypt plenty and fortunate enough to have friends that live there so my hotel stays are just a few and egypt is a place to explore not stay in a room---this was nice and they do leave a welcome plate of fresh fruit , robes, slippers---egyptians are very warm people and very proud of their culture too.

“Lots of little extras”

Really enjoyed the restaurant at the Nile Hotel and the first floor shopping. Husband and I, being typical tourists, couldn't resist ordering cartouches with our names on the front and back - it was nice not to have to travel all over to get this done.

The breakfast buffet was really wonderful and we had a great time people watching in the lobby. What others have said is correct - the place does have style, as well as some really beautiful artwork decorating the marble lobby.

I had some laundry done here and it came back perfectly laundered for a reasonable price. The staff was quite helpful, especially as we were a large group carrying tons - literally - of scuba gear (we also took a trip to Hurghada for a liveaboard on the Red Sea).

The views of the Nile *are* really wonderful and we arrived the first night of Ramadan - what a fun experience to see everyone out and about (and, in contrast to U.S. celebrations, no alcohol. Quite an eye-opener.) Bonus points: This hotel is an easy walk to one of the world's best museums. Wow.

Overall the hotel was clean and quiet, and we'd stay here again.

“Old hotel has still got some style”

I checked into this hotel last minute after returning from a Nile Cruise. I ended up with a double room on the business floor. The rooftop bar was a relief to visit after a harrowing day. The staff was very pleasant, and the business center was very convenient. The breakfast was ample. The hotel connects to the Museum and stores, which was fun for some last minute shopping. All in all, it was a great place to spend my last two days in Egypt.

“The Best Nile View among many hotels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2009

I stayed in this hotel for more than 3 months.

The best aspects - Fantastic Nile view - Especially if you are in Nile facing (of course if u love sun in the afternoons) or in the left corners in the high floors with the swimming pool view. The Gym is good. The Swimming pool is fantastic for the family and nile view. Staff are very courteous. Many restaurants are there. Especially in the evening you can spend some time in the coffee shop with a Shisha and egytian live songs. The Discotheque is buzzing in the weekends. The rooftop pub with fantastic nile view is a hotspot of Cairo after 8pm. Breakfast in the top floor is one good place you have fantastic service, food, view. Especially my wife loved the breakfast time. The waiters always tried to help us try Egyptian fouls and Egyptian cheese curry. Very often, You can see many Egyptian marriage receptions with traditional music in the mezzanaine floor. The Cairo Museum is just behind the hotel. Downtown is at walkable distance from the backdoor. The underground train station hub is also at walkable distance. You can place some tennis. If you want to take unplanned city trip, better go to yellow ac taxis which are metered, which you can find it in the tahrir square which is just behind the hotel.

Now the bad aspects - The buffet in the afternoons is almost the same everyday. The carpets in the path way are old bit smelly in some floors. The doors are badly positioned that it always locks with a bang. Everytime somebody leaves his room you can hear the bang.
