The owners were both very helpful. They were a breath of fresh air, and they didn't want to befriend us just for our money. The place has great prices, comfortable beds, internet, and egyptian breakfast! Stay here!

really great hostel not too expensive, the place is a good enviorment and has access to the internet which is important, the location is also a good area.

They picked me up at the airport (they overcharged me but it s o.k), very welcoming people,
the rooms are cheap and of good value.
The weak point is that as soon as I arrived, the so called tour guide harassed me to buy his
visits to the sites, he knows that we are tired from the flight so he will try to brainwash you
to the max, run away from him, take the local bus to go or bargain elsewhere, not with him.
In fact, I couldn t see the oldest pyramid, just because the guide was tired, I ve just visited an underground tomb and that was it, we didn t stay at the shakarrah pyramids (cost me 60 pounds, never seen it).
Apart from this the hostel is very well located, staff is really friendly and smiley.
Don t hesitate to bargain, their are many around.

We stayed at the Nubian hostel in Cairo for 4 nights. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. They couldn't pick us up at the airport but were kind enough to refund our taxi fare. You could have breakfast at any time in the morning and free internet is available 24hrs. The hostel has a great location. In the evening the pedestrianised street the hostel is on is really lively with pavement cafes. The Egyptian museum and metro stations are just down the road. We were very pleased with our room which was air conditioned and en-suite. It was clean with very high ceilings and also had a tv. Great value for central Cairo. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Nubian hostel.
