We stayed here in January for 2 nights. It started not so well at check in when our super deluxe 2 bedroom apartment was not ready even when we arrived at 3 pm. It took almost an hour to be ready. However, they were very apologetic and they were satisfactory in their response to the situation.
Our room was great, spacious and clean with great kitchen and 2 bathrooms. It had all that we needed including a DVD player and 2 LCD TVs, washing machine and dishwasher. We had a corner apartment in the 8th floor and it was quiet and comfortable. The restaurant was undergoing renovations and was closed and there was no room service. This also caused long waiting times for breakfast as they had breakfast served at the Residents' Lounge on the 2nd floor which was small and resulted in long queues and waiting times. The renovations I believe would be finished by early February. The buffet breakfast was western and very adequate. The gym and heated indoor pool was also above average for hotel facilities as well. Housekeeping is not available on Sundays and public holidays and unfortunately for us we were staying on a Sunday and over the lunar new year public holidays.
The location is great as it is close to a lot of the tourist attractions and great shopping locations such as Myongdong, Doksugong and Gyeongbukgong Palaces, Insadong, etc. There is a subway station nearby called Sodaemun station. Seoul's subway is amazing, quick, efficient, clean and safe.
Overall, despite some minor hiccups, the hotel is great and clean and comfortable with helpful friendly staff. I have found Fraser Hotels overall(so far) to be a class above other spartment hotels with much more space and comfort than a standard sized room in a so called deluxe hotel. I have also stayed at Fraser Suites Insadong and also at Fraser Suites Sydney in the past. I would be definitely be happy to stay at Fraser Place Central Seoul again.
