“Chic, hip, and central to everything location”

Room is perfect with spa bath. Even an English Foxtel channel. Spa bath. Room views not the best, but who stays in their room all day anyway? And any building on Seoul generally has views of another building anyway. Buildings as far as the eye can see. Coffee available to purchase downstairs which is ok. If u want a real western coffee walk 50m around the corner and visit caffe vergnano for possibly the best coffee in Seoul. Brekky is set up in the foyer area and consists of toast, sweet bun, French stick cut up, yoghurt, cornflakes, honey oat cornflakes, butter, jam, coffee and tea. U can take it up to your room or eat outside on their cafe style tables. In the winter gas heaters make a small attempt to keep this area warm. Our bed was hard but we found this in other areas of Korea so think this is how they perceive sleeping comfortably. A main shopping and market St, Insadong, are at the end of the short St. Night markets along here most nights. Only 10 minutes walk to palaces and gnamdaman marchers with 80,000 market stalls. 15 minutes walk to namdam pk cable car up to the Seoul Tower. American multinational stores like Gap 10 minutes walk. Most of the clothes are made to fit small Asians. If u need western fitting clothes visit a tailor or shop in the suburb of Itaewon. Overall this is a good hotel in a great location

“Good location, Korean style rooms”

This is a hotel with a good location. You can basically walk to numerous attractions including shopping. From Incheon airport take the 6002 bus which stops a few blocks away (stop at Insadong). You can also take the 6011 bus. The bus takes approx 60 minutes. Do not take the train as you will need to combine airport train with the metro which is a challenge with luggage. Precise directions are given on the hotel website http://hotelsunbee.com/en/about/about3.php

I stayed in a Korean style room for one night at this hotel. Staff at reception were happy to keep my luggage as I arrived too early for check in (normally at 2pm). The room was well equipped (42" tv, dvd player, PC with internet connection, water dispenser, coffee), a large bathroom with Jacuzzi, underfloor heating which was great given that there was no bed. The experience of being in this room was great. There is free WiFi on the ground floor.

I was disappointed by the rather 'cold' attitude of staff whom I believe should make an effort to be more friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is basically the bare minimum (2 types of cereal, bread, butter, strawberry jam, coffee)... and you have to sit outdoor as there was no indoor sitting. Having just arrived from Hanoi this was a culture shock in terms of hospitality which is what hotels are about.

“Thank you Kim at Hotel Sunbee”

I would like to personally thank Kim and the staff at the Hotel Sunbee in Insadong. You really helped me make this trip very special for my mother.
The hotel is in a great location, Kim helped us plan excursions, answered questions we had from Restaurants, shopping, and even the Trains. How lucky we were to have Kim answer the phone when we were desparately trying to get out of the situation we were in at the Hotel Cats. Kim let us keep our luggage at the hotel while we traveled for 2 days, and had our rooms ready when we arrived back into Seoul. The hotel is very clean, there is breakfast and coffee each morning, and the staff at the front desk are amazingly! They literally saved our trip. I recommend this hotel for ANYONE staying in Seoul. Insadong is a great place to stay and close to everything.

Room Tip: Kim at the front desk speaks English, German, and Korean. She is very friendly and helpful.

“Around touristy Insadong, walking distance to other attractions.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Good location. Good value on the price (still not cheap considering the location) around the area.

Rooms are old but well-maintained and clean. Stayed in a double room with a jacuzzi and a unusually large bathroom. Staff are helpful, pleasant and courteous despite barriers in language, they speak little english though they look after you.

There is also an in-house breakfast with OJ, coffee, usual bread, cereals et al. Calling take out was permitted, the staff helped us to order pizza in Korean but messed up some of the orders -- lost in translation I guess :(

It lacks ambiance since its tucked in the alleyways of Insadong. Nonetheless, its comfortable and was a good find since its very hard to book a hotel around the city during October.
