“Right Smack in Myeongdong”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

people found this review helpful

This hotel is right smack in the middle of Myeongdong. Literally it is part of the shopping district of Myeongdong.

Location:
It is in the central area of Myeongdong. Which means, you do not need to travel far to do any shopping, it is right at the door steps.

Subway is just round the corner around 3 mins walk away.
Since this is in Myeongdong station, travelling to any shopping districts e.g. Dongdaemun or Cityhall is a breeze as it is only 2 stops away.

There are cafes, restaurants, fast food, 24 hrs eateries everywhere around. The hardest part is to just walk a few metres :)

Room:
Room has the basic of what a 3 stars hotel should have. Clean bed, toilet and comfortable.

Cons:
- Small lobby (if lobby is all what it matters)
- Staffs are ok but you need to lug ur luggages yourself
- Since hotel is in smack in the centre of Myeungdong, cabs might not know where is it as it's "road" is on the shopping walking road

For locations and shopping, this hotel is the BEST.

“Great location, but old and smelly rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

Hotel is located in the heart of the shopping district and that's the only good thing about it. The rooms have very old interior and appliances. As there is no differentiation between smoking and non-smoking rooms, cigarette smell is present in all rooms! No safe boxes, but free WiFi. Reception is not friendly, just processing you in and out. Overall not recommended, other hotel choices are nearby.

“Great Hotel, Great Service”

We stayed here for a few days at both end of our trip as we toured South Korea. We stayed in both the traditional Korean rooms (Ondol) and western style room. The hotel is very clean and the staff (as we found everywhere in Korea) very friendly, helpful and service oriented. The hotel is in a great location with lots to do within walking distance.

Room Tip: Choose the Ondol or Korean style room. The matress is on the floor with traditional furniture and l...

“LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!”

i love this hotel, this is my third time coming back. it's in middle of myeongdong's shopping area. there's massive restaurants everywhere. the only bad part about this hotel is the construction that's nearby. you can hear it 6AM. make sure you get a room away from the construction area but other than that it's really great. the staff is really polite and helpful.

“ONLY good thing about the hotel is location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2010

If you are a solo traveller on low budget, this hotel would do as it is located in the middle of fashionable shopping area, other than that I don't recommend it. Since I was a solo traveller, I booked the smallest room in the hotel, i.e. standard single, and extremely small (approx 14 sqm) with small single bed, and yet it cost me about 80 USD per night. Considering the cost of living in Korea, I don't think this hotel is value for money. Bathroom was moldy, the bathtub got some black glue spots and they never clean it up, and OMG, the toilet got stuck. Front desk staff are ok but they aren't at all eager to give a good service. There must be better hotels in the Myeongdong area at the same star rank! I will try to search for other hotel next time.
