I stayed there for two nights on business in October, 2008. I would definitely not go back. In many ways the hotel seems to be a throwback to Soviet days, in that it has its systems in place and the guests need to work around them, rather than vice versa. For instance, it opens up its mininal fitness room (which has just a few machines in various states of disrepair) rather late--I think 10 a.m. Similarly, breakfast is not for early risers--I believe it only opens at 8 a.m. , though I might be wrong in my recollection. Not great if you have business meetings to get to.
Other lowlights were that maids twice came into my room twice without knocking--and there was no "do not disturb" sign to hang on the door. The room itself had the look of something that dated from a few decades ago, in terms of the decor. And while I wouldn't call the staff downright unfriendly, getting a smile from most of them (including reception) was the exception to the rule.
The hotel is on a small, only partly paved side street that did not seem close to anything worth walking to--though my visit was so brief that I didn't have a chance to check that out carefully. The reasons I don't give it a "Terrible" is that it had a decent breakfast spread, good (and free) internet access at a terminal in the lobby, a small rooftop pool that might be a decent place to hang out at during hot weather, and nothing really terrible happened in my brief time there. But I wouldn't recommend this grim hotel to anyone, particularly since it's not at all inexpensive given the (lack of) value you get. It looks better on its website than it is in reality.

Hello Everybody,
First of all let me note that all guest are valuable and special for us and their opinion is it positive or negative is also very important as we treat each of them as a case we have to study on and improve the quality of our services and monitor it. So Thank you for your time to write a comment.
Next I would say as a response of previous comment that the hotel administration does its best to make a guest feel comfortable and at home when staying at Vere Palace. We have full services here but I admit that it was not well communicated with guests. We service our breakfast from 8.00 am to 11.00 am but we also manage serving the guest at particular time on a basis of guest's request. You just need to leave a comment at receptionist. We do our best for your comfort.
There is an information book in the room that provides the guest with any of information about our services.
We have open swimming pool, fitness center with instructor. We aim to make a guest to feel like at his home. In case of any inconvenience you may have while your staying, please just contact to receptions.
The decor of the hotel is created with classic elements and furniture. It makes you feeling like you are visiting palace of French aristrocrat of middle centuries in the modern world as the hotel operates modern facilities and technologies. It a harmony of two different ages. You can also enjoy live music performed on piano.
If you love the art, classic and modern world, it is a right place to visit and enjoy. You are always welcome.
