A must in Southeast Asia together with the Raffles, the Oriental, etc.. It is probably the best choice in Yangon with its old colonial style, the quality of the accommodation and the location. However the service is still not at the level expected especially with the front desk and the concierge.

The Strand is one of the iconic hotels of this world alongwith the Taj in Mumbai, the Raffles in Singapore and many such old world hotels.l
A perfect stay despite a small water problem in the bathrooms due to a failure of the filtration plant.
We felt at home from the greetings of the GM on arrival with flowers and cocktails, to the private dinner in our suite and the farewell lunch in the gastronomic restaurant. A permanent butler service, even late in the night, great housekeeping and smiling staff everywhere. Definitely worth staying

the location of the Hotel is very good
the ambience in the old colonial style is superoir
the service crew from the front office, the concierge, the housekkeping, the restaurant team, the shop crew all in all all crew is very friendly and very trained up to high standards
the rooms are nice, enough space, nice furniture, fresh fruits, enough bottled drinkingwater
the food is nicely presented and good taste

As mentioned last time its a fine hotel, with beautiful, well equipped spacious suites. The service in the room and maintenance is excellent. We had dinner at The Strand, showing us a change in style of food, still good and service is first class, but last time it was an outstanding dinner. We had breakfast at 5 AM in the room.. first class breakfast, classy served.
Actually there is some renovations in the Saikkan Thar road during the day, a bit noisy there
on the right side of the hotel.

There is a change in the management we immediately felt... The Café has now a bit slow service and the guards at the entrance can sit in the night on the stair.. hmm.
I would like to check in immediately in the rooms when arrived in booked/prepaid hotel, would be a fine service ( after 18 hours travel..hmm), better then waiting in the lobby.

Overall a place to stay, a beautiful heritage hotel you should not miss, worth the price
