“Worth staying”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

Different set up as a hotel. It seems that there are more than just Le Nouvata hotel at the complex. The reception area seems to be common for all hotels and is set apart from the accommodation. It has WiFi, but remember to ask at the desk for the log in and password. I didn't know so had to go back to reception to get the log in wasting precious time (I needed to speak to my wife urgently when I arrived).

The room is spacious clean and well presented. It has 2 TV channels in English (Australian).

Downside; Had difficulty getting the A/C to work, but once going it gave no problems.

Another issue is the lack of power points. I could only see 2, one under and behind the bed in the centre, so near impossible to get at, the second one was behind the TV. Both were in use each with 2 appliances connected. This meant no spare outlet to plug in a computer or any other unit such as cellphone charger.

The room I had overlooked the inner courtyard and so was quiet, and the bathroom clean although the toilet had what may have been a moulding flaw which did not look good.

The breakfast range was reasonable with the ability to make toast, ( feature that was not available at another hotel I stayed at north of Noumea). Dinner was good quality but expect a wait for it to be served, and make sure that you get all that you order.

The reception was friendly although it would have been good service if the one receptionist having a chin wag with friends or family had bothered to forgo the conversation to serve a paying customer. The other receptionist was very helpful, spoke good english and very efficient.

Room Tip: If you are not worried about having a view, the rooms overlooking the courtyard should ensure a quie...

“An enjoyable visit with mixed feelings !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

Booked in Le Nouvata through our Travel Agent on a good deal. Pleased with our room for a three star hotel. Plenty of space; efficient quiet air-con. All Staff were friendly although it does help everywhere on the island to have a little knowledge of French. The hotel is in a good location opposite Anse Vata beach, with local shops and restaurants and only 15 mins.bus ride from Noumea town centre.
Ear plugs are recommended for a good sleep anywhere along the southern end of Anse Vata water front at night ! There is a very noisy night club that pumped out reverberating drum-type music until the early hours [0400 on the Friday] from the Tuesday to Saturday of our stay.
Avoid hotel restaurants in general; everything is relatively expensive in N.C. but hotel dining prices are horrendous in N.Z. $ terms.
Isle des Canards is great for a half day visit and some good coral and fish for snorkelling.

Loved the water, beaches and people.

Room Tip: Top floor facing the Anse Vata beach and bay gives a nice view from a small balcony and a pleasant t...

“Bon apetite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

First time visit for my husband and I. Booked in the Nouvata with view of the poolside. Very happy with room and hotel. Was cosy and cleaned on a daily basis. Staff very friendly despite our ltd knowledge of the french language. Found hotel to be in a very handy location opposite Anse Vata beach, shops and restaurants downstairs and our local bakery and suprette a 5 min walk away.Loved the food, enjoyed our daily baguette, cheese, ham and freshly sliced pineapple and papaya from the suprette.
Recommend for both couples and family, we fell in love with the language and are now on the mission to teach ourselves as we will definitely be making it an annual getaway.
Aurevoir - till next time! Happy Campers.

“GREAT LOCATION - POOR HOTEL”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

Le Pacifique is one of 3 hotels surrounding a lovely pool complex, which would have made for good swimming when the staff got around to cleaning out the palm debris. We were on the top floor overlooking the pier with the restaurant Le Roof and Pop Light Disco, the latter hammering out very loud base until the wee hours every night but Sunday, very noisy. Then in the room we had the holey towels that weren't changed every day even when put on the floor as requested on the sign to signal "new towels required". Who would use a towel that has been on the toilet/bathroom floor ??? In the bath was a wooden platform which was very smelly as all the soap scum and hair of guests from days gone by, was gathering underneath and needed a good clean. Then there was the cupboard door covering the fridge that wouldn't shut so you had to be careful not to skewer yourself in the groin when in the room. Apart from that we had a microwave and kitchen utensils that made for EXCELLENT pigging out on the supermarket deli goods and market produce, don't forget the wine !!! all were blissful. The staff at front desk should all take a trip to Fiji and learn how to make guests feel welcome, but maybe being rude and ignoring guests is the colonial French way !!!! Friends were staying in Le Parc in the complex and their room was better, bigger and the colours downright scary. No micro etc. so I'm inclined to think we were luckier in that respect as food is VERY expensive in the restaurants. If it's budget standards you want then budget you'll get, the price isn't budget, bien sûr, mais cela est très français !!

Room Tip: Choose highest floor on right side facing ocean nearest elevator - overlook Anse Vata Beach.

We stayed in the hotel for 8 nights. We got a very good deal as a group booking so didn't expect too much. Lucky because we didn't get much! There are two sections to this hotel - old and new. Make sure you don't pay for the new and get the old! Our room was on the 6th floor facing the island. Very dated decor and no deck. There was very little service but what we liked was that we could use the amenities of the 5 star complex at back packer rates! We headed out to il du pin for a few days and when we came back we had been moved to a lower floor - that's when the fun started! The plumbing did not work. Floor leaked and room stank. Maintenance kept returning and doing something but it was never fixed. Would I go back? No cause I prob wouldn't get the good price again. My recommendation? Beware!
