Having read previous Tripadvisor reviews, we opted for a 14th floor two bedroom apartment on the Baie de Citron side for the 8 day holiday. We we not disappointed. We (four adults) had plenty of space in a very large apartment with great balcony and views. I would agree that the kitchen is not so well appointed with cooking utensils, but it has enough to do breakfast and perhaps an easy lunch. Who would want to cook dinner with some many restaurants and bars close by? The pool is noy very good but the beaches nearby are clean and safe.
Hotel reception staff were somewhat indifferent in attitude but not plainly rude. Other than its apartment size, the other asset of the hotel is its location straddling Anse Vata and Baie de Citron. All bars and restaurants on both beach strips were in easy walking distance from the hotel. Remember buses stop running from about 7.00pm and getting taxis is problematic going to further away places. There are few taxi drivers willing to work at night due to issues with assaults and rock throwing at taxis.
Noise from late night opening bars was not a real issue from our high up apartment, though during the New Year period and at all hours, the locals liked to drive up and down the main strip in their large SUVs with specially fitted 'boom boxes' blasting out rubbish music. Annoying but bearable.
Lastly, we would highly recommend the day trip to Amedee Island and lighthouse for the crusie, swimming, snorkelling, lunch and the sea snakes!
