“Great comfy place to stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2010

I stayed here for ten nights and had a great time. Only two slight glitches: they said they would send someone to pick me up at the airport when I arrived, and they did not. Also, the first night there was a strange smell in the lobby that was off putting. However, from that point on it was a wonderful stay, very relaxing, and the staff was very helpful.

“Want to relax? La petite maison”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2010

La petite maison is situatd on the "Waterkant" in the centre of Paramaribo.
If you want, you can walk from your Hotel to the shops and retaurants in the centre of Pramaribo. You can ask for a taxi also at the hotel.
Everybody in the family hotel is very kind and helpful. They welcome you back, ask about your experiences, help you to find our way, phone for you, post your cards, whatever you will need.
The hotel is a beautiful old house with a nice balcony on the riverside ( a little noisy ).
We had a lovely breakfast wich changed per day; fresh fruits, pancakes, eggs.

“Lovely and very cosy hotel, just around the corner of the historical centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2010

We stayed in La Petite Maison of more that a week and really loved the hotel and it's staff. The service was great, they were always happy to help and advise us. Due to it's small amout of rooms, it's a cosy and very charming hotel. The hotel and it's rooms are very clean.
As a guest you have free access to the internet.
As it is situated at the Surinam river, there's a great view and the centre of Paramaribo is right around the corner.
We would be happy to stay here again!

“Cute, well situated, leans towards no-frills”

La Petit Maison sits on what must be Parimaribo's absolute-best piece of real-estate, in a charming older building along the Waterkaant. From here you are in easy walking distance of everything you might want to see or do in town, and of course taxis are everywhere for the farther-afield adventures.

It should be said that the Waterkaant is not all that it should be, given the views and fabulous streetside architecture. It's grittier than I'd like and all the buildings here (other than the central bank building, of course) are disappointingly run-down. But it's hard not to fall a little in love with the scene, making a stay here that much more satisfying.

The rooms are smallish but clean. There's a cute courtyard out back and a small restaurant for meals. The front desk staff is friendly and everyone I encountered on duty spoke english well enough.

For a business traveler or someone with demanding hotel needs, LPM might fall short. But for a budget traveler or someone wanting a bit lower-key accommodation with some charm factor, this is probably the best choice in Parbo.

“The perfect place to stay if you are in Paramaribo”

We stayed in this hotel for nearly three weeks. It was great. The hotel is situated in the city centre in a historic building that has been renovated. It looks superb from the outside and it is modern and comfortable on the inside. The rooms are quite big, clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast is fine.
All this for a good price.
