Location - It´s far from old town but located in a area with restaurants, shops, hotels.Breakfast was very good, including some paraguayan speciaties .They offered a executive room, with a 6-8 p.m happy hour, a lot of food, including paraguayan specialities, and one drink.
To eat is expensive in hotel, even a simple sandwich,but it´s a Sheraton.
I had a problem on last niight.They had a event in hotel, a party, and become very noise after night.They apologize and I ask to move to another room, so I could sleep.I think that it happens in week-end, so if you are a light sleeper like me, ask them before.
Nexy day a asked for a discount because of last night and they agreed and gave.After they sent a email apologizing again and offering rewards points.

After visiting Encarnacion, the Jesuit Ruins, and Ciudad del Este, it was simply bliss to stay here at the Sheraton Asuncion at the end of our trip before leaving Paraguay.

I'm a gold SPG member and from reading past reviews, was not expecting a room upgrade but indeed I got an upgrade to the club floor! This hotel is fairly small at only 9 floors with less than 20 rooms per floor so I feel that during the week when most of the guests are here on business, it may be harder to get a room upgrade if you're a gold or platinum member (I was in Asuncion during the weekend.)

The hotel is far from the historic area of Asuncion. For US$15 one-way, I took the hotel taxi from the hotel to the city center in roughly 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. The cost of hotel taxi to the airport is $25. When coming back to the hotel, I took the local bus number 30 and it only cost me roughly 50 cents!

The hotel pool and bar (with live music) on the rooftop is very nice, especially feeling the brisk wind in the evening. The gym and spa was pretty modern as well.

There is a very classy shopping mall in front of the hotel with a large food court area (i.e. Burger King) and a large grocery store.

Overall I'd come back here and stay here again next time I'm in Asuncion.

Staff at front desk spoke English very well. Thank you very much Fabrizzia for the amazing service and all your help. I can't remember the nice gentleman's name who worked the night shift on front desk but he was very helpful in telling me where the safe areas to go out in on a Friday evening in Asuncion.

A huge treat after one has arrived from dusty driving day trips through the Chaco, Jesuit ruins and Iguacu Falls. Top-notch all the way in a country where this might not be expected. Excellent restaurant and business-class service.

We have stayed here several times and are always happy with the accomodations. We have stayed downtown and did not feel safe. The Hotel is clean and the staff is nice. We enjoy the breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised at the very comfy beds on our first stay. There is a mall a block away that is nice to walk to. It is also a straight road to the airport. The only complaint we have had is that there have not been any US or English TV channels. That may have been changed by now. We look forward to our stays in this Hotel.
