My case was very similar to the previous post. When I arrived, I was greeted very nicely and everybody was acting very professionally. At check-in, I also specified to the front desk that my wife was arriving on a different plane and that a second guest will be checking in the next few hours. Just to make sure I would not have any problem, I even showed him the name of my wife printed on the confirmation e-mail I received when I booked the room.
When my wife tried to check-in (a couple of hours later), they called my room and told me she could not stay in my room, because I had a single room (with a King size bed !). They wanted us to pay for a second room. Spanish is maybe my third language, but I think I manage it clearly enough to understand that I confirmed with them at check-in that I was waiting for a second person to share the room with me ! As it happened with other travellers who wrote posts for this hotel, it ended up being a 61,000 pesos extra charge per night to cover the "breakfast" charges. I never paid for a so expensive breakfast in my entire life ! I agree with the previous post that it was a very good buffet breakfast, but still !
Since my wife is originally from Colombia, I think they thought she was a "service lady" and for this reason thy billed the extra charge. I even had to sign a something releasing the hotel of any responsibility if it happens my wife steels my personal belongings in the room! I rarely felt so insulted !
We initially planed to stay there for about 1 week, but I was glad I only prepaid for 1 night so that the next day we were out of there moving to a place where we were treated with respect !
My final complaint is regarding the internet. Every time you want to use it, you need to call the reception to purchase time, and you cannot split the time to use on different occasions. Let say you want to check your e-mails 4 times per day, you'll have to call 4 times to purchase time.
