“OK, not great.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

The problems with extra charges from other reviewers sound "scary." I was there on business, so I didn't pay anything myself; the company paid. Hotel was close to my work and seemed like a fairly safe neighborhood. Taxis readily available.

I can talk about the room, service, and breakfast.

Room was large--salon and bedroom. Large windows, but some street noise even on the 10th floor. NO windows opened; it was "stuffy." TV had MANY stations.

Towels are not changed daily (or at all). No washcloths available.

Breakfast is VERY nice but did NOT open at 6, as advertised (no one there, door locked).

Room (and BA) was quite clean but carpets needed shampooing. Matress was comfortable.

I asked for a wake-up call each day, and they never got it right--either called too late or didn't call at all.

Using computers requires a new code every 15 min. Annoying. Computers are not hooked up to any printers and so cannot print boarding passes.

It was OK, not great.

“You'll easily find better options”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2009

My case was very similar to the previous post. When I arrived, I was greeted very nicely and everybody was acting very professionally. At check-in, I also specified to the front desk that my wife was arriving on a different plane and that a second guest will be checking in the next few hours. Just to make sure I would not have any problem, I even showed him the name of my wife printed on the confirmation e-mail I received when I booked the room.
When my wife tried to check-in (a couple of hours later), they called my room and told me she could not stay in my room, because I had a single room (with a King size bed !). They wanted us to pay for a second room. Spanish is maybe my third language, but I think I manage it clearly enough to understand that I confirmed with them at check-in that I was waiting for a second person to share the room with me ! As it happened with other travellers who wrote posts for this hotel, it ended up being a 61,000 pesos extra charge per night to cover the "breakfast" charges. I never paid for a so expensive breakfast in my entire life ! I agree with the previous post that it was a very good buffet breakfast, but still !

Since my wife is originally from Colombia, I think they thought she was a "service lady" and for this reason thy billed the extra charge. I even had to sign a something releasing the hotel of any responsibility if it happens my wife steels my personal belongings in the room! I rarely felt so insulted !

We initially planed to stay there for about 1 week, but I was glad I only prepaid for 1 night so that the next day we were out of there moving to a place where we were treated with respect !

My final complaint is regarding the internet. Every time you want to use it, you need to call the reception to purchase time, and you cannot split the time to use on different occasions. Let say you want to check your e-mails 4 times per day, you'll have to call 4 times to purchase time.

“Beware of extra charges !”

I booked a room for a short stay in Bogota. I had a confirmed prepaid booking with 2 names on the booking (my spouse and I). They charged us a surcharge of 33% (30$ / person/night... wich does not include an extra breakfast !) for the second person claiming that even if the booking was under 2 names we actually only paid for one person in the room.
When I checked out they tried to charge us for a bottle we apparently took in the minibar (missing bottle of water !?).
So my recommendation is to beware of extra charges if you stay at this hotel.

The rooms are nice, but lacking ventilation (no air circulating)... you can open the small window in the bathroom and it's fine.

The breakfast is great !... but only 1 included per room... your partner sharing the room, even if you paid the 30$ fee will have to pay for an additional breakfast.
