I travelled to Bogota with a friend of mine in February this year and we stayed at the Regency Hotel, after I found information on internet and had read the reviews here. We were accommodated in two nice single rooms next to each other that came with a breakfast.

The room had everything I needed, including a tv with many channels. My bed was very comfortable and I got good sleep. The staff was very helpful and attentive. They gave us tips on how to reach the central area and which are the good places to eat and to party.

The breakfast was fine and there were many items to choose from. It was a good start of the day.

I was disappointed from the noise that came from the road below. I could not open my windows as it became louder.

Anyway, the hotel is good for a short stay and the price is ok.

The good: Nice rooms and a very clean hotel. The morning breakfast setup with omelette bar is the one of the best I've experienced so far in Bogota.

The bad: The noise from the traffic outside in the AM can be a bit overwhelming. It starts early, maybe 6AM. Also, the hotel is far away from everything.

The problems with extra charges from other reviewers sound "scary." I was there on business, so I didn't pay anything myself; the company paid. Hotel was close to my work and seemed like a fairly safe neighborhood. Taxis readily available.

I can talk about the room, service, and breakfast.

Room was large--salon and bedroom. Large windows, but some street noise even on the 10th floor. NO windows opened; it was "stuffy." TV had MANY stations.

Towels are not changed daily (or at all). No washcloths available.

Breakfast is VERY nice but did NOT open at 6, as advertised (no one there, door locked).

Room (and BA) was quite clean but carpets needed shampooing. Matress was comfortable.

I asked for a wake-up call each day, and they never got it right--either called too late or didn't call at all.

Using computers requires a new code every 15 min. Annoying. Computers are not hooked up to any printers and so cannot print boarding passes.

It was OK, not great.
