Great location, near to shopping centers, restaurants, bars and a safe place. Small hotel with all services you required for a pleasant stay. Very good breakfast, and big rooms with flat screen tv.

I had booked this hotel on Expedia for an overnight layover just a few days before my flight. When I arrived at the hotel around 10:30 PM, I was informed that the hotel was full and noticed I was on a list with 3 or 4 others who were going to be relocated. The man at the front desk was very nice - when my Spanish became inadequate for the conversation, he picked up in English without any resentment. He offered to pay me a cab to a sister hotel in their chain and called ahead to let them know I was coming. He also said my rate would be honored at the other hotel. I'm not sure if I ended up at the right location (he told me the Dann Carlton), but I definitely got my $125 worth that night in a gigantic suite at the Casa Dann Carlton. This potentially bad situation worked out and I have the staff to thank for it. It may be advisable to try to book directly with the hotel (website in Spanish), so you don't get bumped on a busy night.

I selected this hotel based on location and price. North Bogota area, near Zona Rosa. As far as the location, it is next door to a nice supermarket, very upscale with a nice cafe area. Also very close to the Unicentro shopping mall, easily walkable (5 min). Around the corner was El Corral, a nice restaurant chain that had good food and drinks. Bogota Beer Company was also within walking distance along with a Juan Valdez cafe and many other nice restaurants. I felt very safe walking in the area day or evening... Cab rides to Centro, Montserrate, Candelaria and the Airport were very reasonable and did not take too long. I took advantage of the closed streets in Sunday to run with all the other runners and cyclists... the altitude affected me though and I could only manage 4 miles!

The hotel itself was very clean and the room was modern (LCD TV, new stereo system), as was the lobby and bar area. The dining room was nice and I took advantage of the breakfast that was included in my rate. I never had issues with internet access (It's in each room, but I did not bring my computer) as they have 3 computers in the business area you can use. Staff was friendly and helpful. None spoke english (that I encountered) during my stay, but that was not as problem as I can speak passable Spanish.

No AC, but the nights are cool enough. It can be noisy in the morning with the window open (street noise) but they have a nice remote control fan that does an adequate job since there is no humidity.

All in all a great place to stay in my opinion.
