We stayed at this hotel and Bogota just one night. The hotel is about 20 mins from the airport, if there is no traffic. Traffic in Bogota was crazy...think, New York City. There are hotels very close to the airport, but they are not close to anything else.
The Dan Carlton was nice and seems to have been recently renovated. It also seems to have a good area for meetings/conventions. The breakfast buffett was really good. It was free with our room, so i'm not sure on the cost.
We arrived very early and was able to get an early check-in, that was really nice. Our room was very large: two beds, a small table & two chairs, a couch, coffee table, dresser, tv, etc. I was surpised at the size. The bathroom was nice, there was a big step into the shower. The shower, while clean and large with good water pressure, the temperature was frigid. The hot water never really did heat up well. My sister took a shower after me and said she had no hot water at all.
Caution - there is no air conditioning in these rooms. I may have missed that on the hotel info and maybe it's not every room, but our room definitely did not have AC. I guess Bogota has a mild climate, but it was kinda of stale in the room and a bit noisy outside, so I would have rathered had AC than having the window open. It was not noisy all night, which was good.

Wifi here was spotty. The staff was friendly and helpful enough. No problems at this hotel. It's about 4 blocks from a neighborhood area with some restaurants, but not much else around the hotel. It is at a major 6 lane road intersection and is very busy. It's not too far from the downtown area (take a cab).

I have just returned from Bogota, Colombia couple days ago. And I had the pleasure of staying four days at the Casa Dann Carlton Hotel. The hotel is in the "zona Norte" of Bogota which is a nice residential and safe area of town. The hotel is near the "Plaza 93" (about a 15 to 20 minute walk) from the hotel. This Plaza is beatiful and has several good restaurants around the Plaza (Square). The Hotel itself is a bit old and room furniture might be needing some remodeling , but the rooms are very clean and spacious. The staff is very friendly and always looking for ways to help the visitor and make them feel comfortable. The breakfast buffet is included. The buffet includes continental, tipical colombian food, fruits, and classic egg breakfast with bacon "rolls" ,etc... The Wi Fi in the rooms is FREE!!!!! You dont see that in other major hotels chains. If you have the time, use the roof top pool, it has water control heater , the water is very clean , great for a morning swim. Has a jackussi with a view. In the same floor there are lockers, Turkish and Regular Saunas. and nearby bathrooms. This area is very clean and has a good vibe. Below the pool, is the Exia Spa, were I got a nice couple massage with my wife and prices are reasonable.
I strongly recomend this hotel.

I have been there on vacations and business and always received an ecxelent service, food is good and is located in a good area of Bogota. I recommend it specially if you travel for health treatments, since they have a special package for pre and post surgery.

It’s a good hotel located in a nice area of town.
The cons:
- Lack of Honesty and transparency: we booked via Booking.com at a fixed rate.
When we asked for the bill, we had been presented with higher rates.
After discussing with front desk and reservation for about 1 hour and showing them our online reservation they finally re-adjusted the rates.
Being foreigners we should be exempted of the VAT. This had always been the case at the intercontinental and Radisson in multiple cities in Colombia. Well at the Casa Dann Carlton they refuse to exempt you the VAT. Probably a kick back that goes in the employees pockets.
- The hotel rooms : At the checkin we’ve been nicely upgraded to a bigger room for free.
Problem is that room had a few issues : the hot water wasn’t working in the bathroom, the phone wasn’t working either. We request to change the room, but they sent the maintenance to fix the issues.
Maintenance wasn’t very efficient… After 2 days taking cold showers and have to use my cell phone to call room services they finally changed us to another room. No this not a joke!
The SPA, pools and Jacuzzi : the massage was below average quality. Every time we went for spending sometime in the hot tub the water was cold and had to wait about 1 hour for it to be warmed up.
