“Great location, hotel and staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 March 2010

I was overwhelmed by the attention the staff gives at this hotel. The location is great - restaurants and pub within walking distance (even at night, which is saying a lot for Bogota!).
There was no AC in the hotel, but with Bogota's weather, we were fine with just the windows. In 4 days, I think I had to open the door at the entrance maybe twice - there was always a door man there to open the door, help with luggage, or arrange for a cab or hired driver. Large room with nice amenities (in the room and the bath), big ole flat screen TV. I didn't have my laptop with me so I used the free internet and computers in the biz office.
Only drawback was breakfast - served 6am to 10am, but if you wandered in after about 9:30, they'd already started putting the food away. A friend had an hour long, in room massage for $30 which she swears was one of the best she's ever had.
No gym, but you can get a free pass to a gym about a 10 minute walk away.

“lovely hotel in the financial district of Bogota”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2009

I stayed 7 nights at the Rosales Plaza in Bogota with my son. The hotel was very well situated, on Calle 72 just a few steps above the Septima, one of the main thoroughfares of the city and smack in the middle of the financial district.
We had a late check-in that went as smoothly as could be expected. We were quickly shown to our beautiful room, a junior suite, that had two queen beds and all the trappings of a small, luxurious boutique hotel. Tasteful furnishings, wonderful feather comforters, immaculately clean. The bathroom was well appointed with toiletries like dental kit and shaving kit that were refreshed daily. Wonderful shower with tremendous pressure. 2 balconies, one complete with patio furniture- we actually sat out there a couple of times.
The included breakfast was delicious. Every day they had a different assortment of tropical fruit and fruit juices, typical breads like pan de yuca and arepas, and one could order eggs any style and expresso drinks. Served from 6am to 11am with courtesy and flair.
We found the included services in their business center very convenient- free wifi and printing. Filtered water, coffee and tea free anytime.
The front desk staff was always very accomodating. They always made sure they either called a taxi for us or if we hailed one right outside the hotel, they would escort us and write down all the pertinent data. Things have improved a lot in Colombia as far as security, but everyone exerts caution.
The hotel is surrounded by a number of very chic and very good restaurants, and every mode of transportation is right at the doorstep.
I can highly recommend taking in the Gold Museum, Museo Botero, Centro Gabriel Garcia Marques, walk around the Candelaria and Plaza de Bolivar. For a weekend trip, consider Villa de Leyva.
All in all , a wonderful stay. Thanks to everyone at the Hotel Rosales Plaza.

“Recommended”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2009

First time in this Hotel, well located and fortunatelly everything was right unless I had to make a late check-in.
Staff was kind and the room was very spacious in spite of to being able to get a courtesy upgrading as I was advised a big event was taking place.
Hope to be more lucky net time.

“Excellent staff. Rooms medicore.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2009

I spent a week at this hotel and found the staff to be very helpful, from providing directions to restaurant suggestions. They also tried to get my wireless internet connected, but were never able to fix it. However, they did get me connected using the DSL. Rooms were large with nice balcony, but decor was aging. Bathroom was modern and room had a minibar/refridge. Breakfast included pastries, bacon/sausage, cheeses, fruits and eggs/omelets cooked to order. I ate dinner at the restuarant one night and the food was very good. Location is excellent in the 72 and near many other restuarants and a grocery store one block. One big negative was there was NO gym.
