This hotel was chosen by the company I was visiting because it is in a safe area and the mall attached provides easy access to anything a traveler might want. There is a beautiful little park/church/restaurant area just a few blocks walk. It is safe to walk in this area. There is a military base within 1/2 mile which I was told makes this area even safer. If you are a European or North American traveler, you should stay at this hotel or somewhere as safe and pleasant. I enjoyed the breakfast. There is a small grocery in the mall. Food court in the mall, etc. I was able to get a temporary phone card in the mall for 15 bucks for my unlocked phone. Colombian people are very kind. Bogota has wonderful sights downtown, but don't stay out after dark downtown.

This is for me one of the worst hotels I have ever been to based only on the fact that there is so much noise that it is impossible to get some descent sleep. There is no sound isolation in between the rooms so you have a live broadcast from the next neighbours romantic adventures. The cars on the street could be driving through your room. At least that's how it feels. And the hallway is this kind of place where sound keeps echoing. There is no descend gym and the breakfast feels like a miss parade but none of them gives you a coffee. The most positive thing in the hotel is that the girls all look like models but I'm sure that nobody's misses would appreciate this.

Nice hotel, extremely well located.
However, I agree with the other comment: They are not completely honest regarding to service and extra charges.
I stayed there for one night and the next day they charged me for toiletries that were supposed to be "extra". The key issue is that they don't let you know that they have an extra cost. I paid nearly US$12 for a unmarked bag that I thought it was going to be a "nice complementary gift". Honestly, I paid for it but it is highly unethical. It did upset me very much.
It seems like in addition to that, there are plenty of "traps" inside the room, like for instance, bottled water outside the freezer, at US$10 a bottle. Drink it and then pay for an imported Evian bottled water. I wonder if they have local bottled water inside the freezer...
Myself, as a presumably seasoned traveler should have known better....
Well, I fell, but they lost a customer and got a negative review here.

I have stayed at this hotel on two ocassions and I've chosen it mainly due to its location. It's a very nice hotel in one of the best residential areas in Bogota and it's connected to the Shopping Mall Hacienda Santa Barbara. This shopping mall was a conversion of the old Hacienda Santa Barbara since this part of the city was rural only 70 years back. It's also right next to the old town of Usaquen which has a beautiful central plaza, with lots of nice shops and restaurants and sundays a flea market is held there. Another shopping mall close by is Unicentro and if you want to go North of the city to the salt Cathedral of Zipaquira or to the famous "Andres Carne de Res" you're just a half hour away. Transportation there is excellent since it's close to the 7 Ave. We stayed in a suite so the room was quite roomy and breakfast was deliciuus. They have spa in the hotel you can take advantage of. It's a small hotel so I find that service is more personal. Staff was friendly, and although we arrived at 3am, they were waiting and the room was ready. Overall a pleasant, relaxing stay.
