“do not stay at this hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 March 2011

I would strongly recommend against staying at this hotel. Starting with check-in, the service was terrible. No attention to customer service at all. Additionally, I stupidly bought something at the hotel's giftshop. Another sales clerk distracted my momentarily as the first one replaced what I thought I had purchased with a piece of plastic. Unfortunately, as the item was gift wrapped, I didn't notice until I had left the country.

“Wonderful stay at Cosmos 100”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2011

Our stay at Cosmos 100 started with me and my boyfriend being greeted by the doorman with courtesy and smiles who quickly took our luggage in for us. We arrived a lot earlier than check-in, but they held our luggage for us so that we could eat breakfast at their buffet and walk the streets of bogota. Before we left, they even said they would try their best to have the room ready before the official check-in time--so we called later while out, and it turned out, our room was ready 2 hours earlier that check-in.

The Pros:
Polite and accommodating staff (doorman, Concierge, bellhop and front desk attendant)
Excellent and prompt room service.
Almost every personnel were bilingual, helpful for those who don't speak Spanish.
Breakfast was included, with a good selection.
We had the Superior junior suite, with the living area separated from the bedroom, and was clean, comfy.
The room was warm enough considering it was January.
Toilet/shower was separated by a door from the sink/mirror, allowing both areas to be available at the same time, although this preference varies from person to person.
The area the hotel was in felt very safe at all times, and there were little stands occupying every block and multiple places to eat near the hotel.
The spa was very clean, comfortable and professional.

Cons:
The toilet/shower area was very small and the shower was without a curtain or door. We had to put one of the towels as a stepping mat or else water would end up on the floor.
Some of the windows would close but couldn't lock.
The website said the room would include a full body mirror and a coffee maker and it they were no where to be seen.
The hotel was far from tourist sites/mall. However the hotel had it's own cab company that would take you anywhere and had a flat rate to take u to the airport regardless of traffic.
They were doing construction on the building right next door, so every morning you could hear the drills and construction workers.

Overall, the hotel was fabulous with it's friendly staff, prompt service and cleanliness. We will definitely go back without a doubt. Cosmos 100 is officially our hotel of stay when we go back to Bogota.

“Never again, too bad experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2011

As a business traveller I have the opportunity to travel around the world and stay in different hotels. As an hotel administrator with more than 11 years of experience I know the difference between a 5 stars hotel and a turist hotel. Know what to expect for a price and the answer to give to an unsatisfied client when I do receive a complain.
Well the room I was given at the Cosmos 100 hotel was not of a 5, 4 or 3 stars hotel located in the capital city of Colombia. A very noise room, with no air conditioning, with a terrible internet and a mini bar completely empty and out of order.
When I went to complain maybe they thought I was not going to take any action... but I did and move to another hotel were this basics elements are cover and for the same or less price.
Nor me or any of the employees of my company will have to go through this pain again since I will make sure we use other options when we stay in Bogota, Colombia.

“Surprisingly Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2010

We stayed in the hotel and conference centre for a week and were treated to very good service, excellent food and suprisingly modern and comfortable rooms - with somewhat hard beds. For a conference, the hotel proved to be a very good choice as they had all the amenities we needed, including high speed internet in all the rooms, and were able to provide excellent breakfasts and lunches throughout the week. Nice little bar just off the lobby, with live music every night proved to be a good place to relax after spending the days in meetings.

“Clean, friendly staff but far from the city centre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2010

I booked the hotel online, seemed to be a good price-quality balance and the hotel looked good. Despite some critical issues, I would recommend it because the staff was very friendly, rooms are clean and the breakfast buffet was really good.

To make it short, first some positive points:
- Very friendly staff;
- Good breakfast buffet (although the coffee could be better);
- Fast Internet access (no more sure if it was for free);
- Nice pool on the roof top;
- Room service and housekeeping are reliable and respond quickly;
- Rooms are nice and clean and bathrooms are ok, although a bit small.

And here some critical issues:
- Far away from the city centre (taxi will take about 45 min. during rush hour);
- Some trouble with the room reservation, they didn't reserve the room I booked, some discussion necessary to get another room and I had to pay more in the end;
- Make sure you book a room at the backside of the hotel, front side rooms are too noise due to the main road in front of the hotel;
- No direct access to a printer at the business centre, printing needs to be done by hotel staff.
