Standard backpackers hostel with a friendly vibe, good location in La Candelaria, very basic rooms and great hot showers! (Amazing after several days of rain and cold showers.) Dorms and private rooms, all with shared bathrooms. We stayed in a private room/double bed that literally was big enough just for the bed, but that suited our needs just fine...it just wasn't a room you'd want to spend any time in besides sleeping.

There are a few common rooms where travelers congregate to have meals, beers (the hostal also serves food) and share stories/tips. Owners and staff were attentive and very helpful. It can get a bit noisy at night from the inside conversations as well as the outside endlessly barking dogs, but earplugs solve that. Good Mongolian barbeque place across the street as well for reasonably priced and filling food.

Oh, be sure to ask staff about the typical prices for taxis around town or to specific locations, we were ‘gringoed’ a few times and wish we had asked in advance. Overall this place would've been amazing if we weren't a married couple in our 30s, but even despite that we still enjoyed our stay and had good conversations with other travelers.

What a great hostel. The young girl behind reception when i arrived was super friendly and welcoming on my tour of the hostel. The dorms were great. as the weather is so cold, it was the first time in my travel where duvets were provided and this was a relief. it reminded me a lot of home. also they come in everyday and remake the bed like in a hotel, was a surprising touch. The food was good, had the barbeque one night, also great, and the guys in the kitchen were very friendly. it was in a good location and the atmosphere was great, a very social hostel. open fires a nice touch but need to have a bigger supply of dry wood!

This hostel was really friendly, with a good kitchen and TV room(with an open fire!!!) and lots of computers available (not for free). The dorms are fine, though a bit cold. When we arrived (relatively early in the morning), they let us check straight in which was great after an overnight bus. The breakfast is not included but there are really good, options at reasonable prices. The area is pretty handy to the Gold Museum, Police museum etc and there are restaurants and supermarkets nearby.

The croc is a fine example of a hostel set up by a fellow traveller, they've thought of everything you may need. The dorms have very comfortable beds, with huge lockers, power outlets inside the lockers - you need your own lock - and reading lamps. The kitchen is fully decked out too. The TV lounge is complete with fireplace, bean bags, big screen TV and a media player with 100's of movies. Water was hot and high pressure, and the place was spotlessly clean. For 20,000 pesos a night it's great value. They have a restaurant with fairly cheap and yummy breakfasts and dinners, drinks and snacks available. The vibe is very cool, lots of great activities to see the best of Bogota by day and night and the staff were always helpful and informative. In all, a great start to my trip in Colombia!!
