“right on the beach, cosy small place in a city of tower block hotels”

I really enjoyed the stay there! The place is a little funky, just 2 floors and located right on the beach! I loved the "private" sofas and tables which were assigned to the suites.
Also the materaces on the beach are a way better than the usual beds. The service on thebeach is a hit and miss - some of the staff very nice and helpful, some acted totally useless.
The rooms are probably not so much to my taste (quite simple style) but were not bad also.
Located a little further form were the action is (5 mins by taxi about 15usd) but I loved the location anyway.

“Small, quiet, with quality design & decor”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2010

A nice place, at the beach, 15 minutes from Punta.
Sunset time is a must.
Try to avoid Christmas/New Year holidays - full of people and festivities.

“Pleasantly surprised.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2010

We had hoped to avoid Punta del Este at all costs, but found ourselves without accommodation and getting late into the evening. We happened across this hotel as we arrived, and all things considered think that we were pretty lucky. The hotel is at the quieter end of the main drag, and has an enviable location on the beach. All public areas are great (and very black and white!) and the outside areas right on the beach particularly enviable. The supper that we has in their Asian fusion restaurant was probably one of the best we have had in over 5 years of living in South America. There was a party in the other restaurant that night with live music, and so we were worried about the noise, but good sound proofing plus double-glazing in the rooms meant we had a peaceful nights sleep. Along with other reviewers we would comment that the rooms are a bit too minimalist, decor is looking a bit tired and service inconsistent (although our waiter at supper was top notch - you won't find better). But for us overall, it was a reasonably peaceful and pleasant introduction to Punta del Este in a lovely location.

“Nice hotel but something intangible is missing, saved by the restaurant.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2010

Quite an expensive hotel but we knew that when we booked. The general decor of the hotel is modern and quite different in a black and white stark sort of way. Our room faced the ocean, had good views and a comfy bed but the furnishings were a bit minimalist. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant was up there with the best. The hotel is pleasantly located on a nice beach although Punta del Este is a taxi ride away. Worth going to but there is a missing ingredient.
