We had hoped to avoid Punta del Este at all costs, but found ourselves without accommodation and getting late into the evening. We happened across this hotel as we arrived, and all things considered think that we were pretty lucky. The hotel is at the quieter end of the main drag, and has an enviable location on the beach. All public areas are great (and very black and white!) and the outside areas right on the beach particularly enviable. The supper that we has in their Asian fusion restaurant was probably one of the best we have had in over 5 years of living in South America. There was a party in the other restaurant that night with live music, and so we were worried about the noise, but good sound proofing plus double-glazing in the rooms meant we had a peaceful nights sleep. Along with other reviewers we would comment that the rooms are a bit too minimalist, decor is looking a bit tired and service inconsistent (although our waiter at supper was top notch - you won't find better). But for us overall, it was a reasonably peaceful and pleasant introduction to Punta del Este in a lovely location.
