Pros:Hotel grounds are real nice..Gardens, & 2 pools. One warm, & the bigger one cold. Neighborhood is upscale & very safe. Big shopping center 6 blocks, & beach about 3. Easy walk to downtown. Great breakfast!! Probably the best hotel choice in Punta for the price.
Cons: Beds very soft, (2 twins put together to make a queen) & small rooms. Downstairs rooms are in desperate need of update..

I stayed six nights here while attending a conference in Punta del Este. The location is set amidst an obviously high end residential area, and the hotel itself has lovely gardens surrounding it.
Location wise, it is not a beach front hotel, and I could walk 20 minutes to the Conrad hotel where the conference took place, and 10 minutes to Punta shopping mall. There is a large super market about 5 minutes away where you can stock up on supplies, as well as handy ATM machines.
I had booked a standard room. The room was a fair size, and there was only a shower unit with no bath. The air conditioning was not working well and I reported this immediately. The receptionist was very prompt and got the housekeeping people to see to it. However the air conditioner was still not working well, and I got upgraded to an executive room which i felt was a very generous gesture on their part. I was impressed by the service recovery. They were also very good at making reservations for tours and taxis.
The executive room was much bigger with a separate writing desk overlooking the pool and a larger flat screen TV. Bathroom was larger with a bath and a bidet. Free wifi was available in the common areas, but I could also access it from my room.
The breakfast was served only from 8am daily. It was a very good spread and i particularly enjoyed the wide variety of fresh fruits. I also had dinner in the hotel restaurant and tried both the a la carte and the prix fixe menus which were both very good.
There are two pools, one a sort of round hot tub and another more conventional pool which was unheated. As a result the water is very cold, but after a few laps one should be OK.
The only disappointing thing about the hotel was the "fitness centre". It was housed in a small out-house in the gardens, and on the first day there was a delapidated nautilus sort of cable machine looking the worse for wear. There are a couple of stationary bikes and a threadmill, but the free weights were rusty; the whole gym was in desperatre need of maintenance, to say nothing of a makeover.
Apart from that, I'd say the hotel was very nice and I'd stay again if i returned to Punta del Este.

Had a pleasant stay here. The location won't suit everyone being in an upmarket suburb about 30-45 minutes walk from the shopping and port area, albeit a very pleasant walk along the beach, which is about 5 minutes walk away. The garden and pools are very relaxing, with one of the pools well heated. My room was clean but a bit small and air conditioning didn't work. OK for me as the weather was cool anyway. No Wi-Fi in the room but complimentary cable internet (you have to request a cable at reception). Good Wi-Fi in the lobby. Breakfast excellent and I had some lunches and dinners there which were also good.

Complimentary bicycles are frankly dangerous. Like one of the previous reviewers, I could only find one that was remotely safe. All the other's had flat tyres, brakes that didn't work or both. Use with care.

As long as you don't mind being a bit away from the action, I would recommend this hotel.

A very friendly and relaxing hotel. Very friendly staff also, we felt really at home and intend to come back.

It is true when they say "we can recognize a nice hotel by its towels"

The towel are great and also the bed sheets. The room is large and in our case (The Suite) had a big closet for the bags and clothes.

Wonderful breakfast ( and until 11:00 am), the surrounding area is quite, you will hear only some lawn mowers in the morning, and very well located for a nice walk or bike.

The "not so good" :
The climatized pool was empty...
The bikes offered for the guests were almost all broken, we found only 2 working, but we had to rent outside the hotel because we needed more than 2.
There is NO wifi at the room, only at the lobby.
The parking is small, maybe your car will have to be parked at the street.

I believe these are very easy to solve, and they could improve the service or the information about it.
