We were surprised at the location of this hotel as it is not very central but it did not matter and actually added to our experience as the city centre was very quiet anyway and only a short bus ride away for 75cents!! Great looking hotel with great service to match. the staff rang ahead to places we wanted to visit to make sure they were open and really could not do enough for us. Great for a base if you want to tour around or just to stay there and relax. I miss it already

Loved this little hotel, that oozes with charm, fantastic decor, great comfort, and extraorindary service. Would definitely go back.

-Feel well in this hotel and want to sit and enjoy the various areas, to read the available books, listen to good music, relax in the garden or around the swimming pool.
-Very friendly staff and service, nice buffet breakfast. Free WiFi and one computer with Internet available.
-Ocean at 30 meters with hours of walk. Need a car to reach the place.
-Room very comfortable, very nice bathroom, terrasse. Very relaxing and friendly place. There is a lot of pajaros-birds.
A little pricy

My husband and I stayed at Posada de los Pajaros for a portion of our honeymoon trip in South America. The hotel is absolutely charming, and we loved the location: In a relatively quiet strip of La Barra beach pretty much equidistant between Punta del Este and Jose Ignacio.

Our large room (ocean view with a jacuzzi) was terrific, and the hotel itself was great. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the pool and the Atlantic? It hardly gets better than that!

What really made the experience special was the attentive, helpful staff. They provided beach towels and beach chairs (which they let us just keep in our rental car for three days), posted post cards for us, and made restaurant reservations. They even sent a bottle of champagne to our room on arrival, to help celebrate our honeymoon. Incredibly thoughtful! (Also, for whatever it's worth, we're a gay couple.)

I would recommend Pajaros to anyone traveling to Punta del Este. It made our visit memorable and special.

If I had to say anything negative, I'd just say that we were very glad we'd rented a car. There's a great beach right at the hotel, but walking to restaurants/bars, etc., would have been a bit of a challenge.
