I had booked here for 5 nights on business. I got the impression that this hotel may possibly have been a good hotel at some point but is now in the mid to late stages of decline. Looks nice from the outside, but that's as far as it goes. Check-in took around 15 min. Couldn't find my booking then when they did, they were confused about the rate. Was even asked what time I was checking out?? Never been asked that on arrival before. The corridor leading up to my room smelt really damp and moldy and the carpet in the room looked pretty worn out too. Room was pretty big (id say the only advantage), bathroom also in urgent need of a makeover. Toilet lid was dirty even though it had one of those "sanitized" bands around it. Mini bar fridge door not screwed into cupboard door, plug socket next to the bedside table faulty. Sat at the desk, tried to plug in my laptop only to discover that there was no vacant wall socket. Disconnected the TV to connect my laptop. Connected the network cable to my LAN port...nothing. I discover there's a router under the desk and its not even plugged in! Go to plug it in, realize it needs an adapter. Asked for one at reception, arrived to my room pretty quickly at least. Loud buzzing noise from the A/C compressors could be heard outside my window at night. Breakfast was nothing special, pastries not very fresh, juice and milk both room temperature, the only thing on ice was the small tubs of yogurt. Coffee machine poured only half a mug of coffee, and the fresh melon I tried was not ripe. Not worth the 50 AED, don't bother. Then every morning a guy would knock on the door with a newspaper. Really annoying. I appreciate the free paper, but he cant leave it at the door? My guess is they are trying to save money on newspapers so they only give you one if you answer the door. No fruit for 4 nights then suddenly on the last night I arrive to find a bowl of fruit in my room. Also to save money? Just really strange and inconsistent. Check out was just as slow and complicated. Hard to believe I'm sure from reading this that I'm not one to complain but this hotel was really poor. Internet too was around 84 AED extra per day. Not worth the money and I wouldn't stay there again, not even for a reduced rate.

Compared to other two hotels where I stayed this hotel is overpriced. The bathroom was quite worn-out. The room is big but average. Location is ok. There is a nice spa downstairs and also a ladies' salon where I had a manicure and got a henna tattoo. Still I would stay in another hotel eg. Al Maha Arjaan in Abu Dhabi as the price is about the same.

A very nice place. Centrally located. Top notch staff. They were very polite and exceeded expectations. I had to extend my stay on a day to day basis and they were very accommodating. As a westerner I only wish they had a lounge/bar. A good bottle of wine would have went well with the excellent Italian restaurant on the premises.
