I stayed in the hotel for 30 days in one of the studios and the room had everything you need for a long stay (washing machine, fridge, work space, ... During my stay I didn't run into any issues.
Accross the street you can find all sort of restaurants and even a cinema inside a somewhat small shopping mall
The only downside is the actual area, it gets unbelievably busy with traffic and people and a hard location to get a taxi. But that's not really the hotel fault.

Stayed here for three nights in May on the way back to Australia. Our first time in Abu Dhabi. The overall service in the hotel was very good, the only area I felt could be improved was in the restaurant, where it seemed to take a long time from ordering to receiving meals from the a la carte menu eg. we ordered a pasta dish and a salad and it took 25 mins to arrive.
Another minot problem is the internet access, their is only one PC available, and you buy time slots of 30 mins or 60 mins, but have to use it all in one hit (found a cheaper alternative internet cafe across the road).
The room we had was exceptional in size and facilities for the rate and the overall service from the staff couldn't be faulted. The location is handy for central city, and there are supermarkets within walking distance.
Overall would recommend and I would stay there agian.

Been there for 5 days and the friendliness and supportiveness of the staff was exceptional - although in the Emirates one enjoyes anyhow the arabian hospitality almost everywhere.
Room was very tidy, they even overdid it a bit with changing towels.
Complimentary fresh fruits in the room was a nice goodie too.
The air condition cannot be adjusted reasonably so I it was a bit too cold AND humid in my room for me. On the opposite site of the hotel there is a construction site - an unpleasant noise phenomen often experienced in Abu Dhabi - but in the Al Maha you enjoy mostly silence, since the windows protect very well against the outside noise.
Breakfast buffet was plenty and fresh. Coffee was tasty and lots of friendly staff taking care that it got refilled instantly. In particular I liked the fresh fruits and dairy selection offered.
The hotel runs a gym. The equipment is state of the art and kept clean. The swimming pool on the roof top of the hotel is a bit small for a decent exercise but good enough to cool down during the heat of the day.
The WLAN internet only comes at a cost. This is a questionable policy of Rotana since many other places offer this for free.
As a summary - a very nice hotel featuring the appreciated typical Rotana quality standards to the benefit of the guest.

Rooms spacious,Service superb.
Best is Ambiance.
Least I liked was half hour for check in process & rare of Indian food dishes.
Alcohol not served.
Frequented by European families.Good Continental Buffet food & restaurent on ground floor.
Supermarkets ars spread all around.
Swimming pool on top.
Staff is Arabic,Philipino,Sri Lankan & few Indians.
Very Quiet all day also.
Non smoking floors availble.
