I have stayed in this hotel a number of times in the last couple of years and I am a Starwood Gold Card holder; however, one thing bugs me about this hotel.
You book a Club Room and the rooms are great; however, the "Club Lounge" is the right hand end of the foyer Lounge, fully open to the public.
Your consumption of tea, coffee, etc. during the day, evening drinks and snacks is free in this area, but it is a public area.
Also at Breakfast time, there is only a limited supply of croissants, etc, whereas in every other Starwood Hotel I stay in, there is at least one hot option, plus toast, fruit, yogurt, etc.
Should you wish to have Breakfast in the Restaurant, its an additional Dhs116 (£19.95 - US$31.60), which I think is unacceptable, bearing in mind you have paid for a Club Room.
I have pointed this out to the Hotel, with the result that I am told that, "In the future there will be a proper Club Lounge".
Room Tip: High floor, where there is less road noise.

Dear Tony,
Thank you for being a patron of Le Royal Meridien, we do appreciate your business and your loyalty to the brand.
We do understand your frustration with regards the lack of privacy of the Club Lounge; the hotel will be undergoing some refurbishment works very soon and the issue of a separate Club lounge will definitely be addressed.
Please note that being a Starwood Gold member, you are also entitled to have breakfast at L'Opera - the all-day-dining restaurant - where a wide selection of breakfast favourite is served daily.
Once again thank you for staying with us,
Please do not hesitate to ask for me or any other member of the management team on your next visit, we will be happy to assist in the best way we can.
Best regards,
Shaun P.
