The Mercure Centre Hotel on 5th Street is close to all the amenities, with a good underground car park close by. The reception staff are very helpful, the room price is very reasonable for a city centre position. The rooms are clean and the decor good, the bathroom is more than adequate and has a good selection of toiletries. I was given an upgrade and had a very nice corner room overlooking the town. The room had tea and coffee making facilities and a large television. The breakfasts were very good but book at the start of your stay to get an extra discount. There was a good bar that served bar snacks. In general I had a very pleasant stay

I spent 6 days here whilst watching Cricket and Golf. Checking in was easy, and Olga couldn't have been more helpful! Rooms are a reasonable size, and very good value for the price. As others have said it is very central, and many places can be reached on foot, although you probably wouldn't bother with Taxi's being so cheap.

The Hotel has a small swimming pool (outdoor) on the sixth floor, where there is a fitness centre as well. The nightclub adjoining the Hotel is fairly noisy,but an enjoyable enough place for a couple of drinks and listening to the bands / music. If you want somewhere quieter the Jazz Bar on the first floor is a great place. We found drink to be fairly reasonable and certainly no more than we'd expect to pay in a Pub in London.

Altogether, a most enjoyable experience.

I loved this hotel. Everything about it was terrific. The rooms were a good size and had all the little comforts (bath robes to use, HUGE white fluffy bath towels, coffee, water, hairdryer). The restaurants are a little pricey but the Chinese restaurant in the hotel was very reasonable and had a great selection and was excellent. Breakfast was really good - a huge selection. The location on Hamdan Street was a great location with easy access to everything. But the outstanding part of this hotel was the service. The concierge and all the staff could not do enough to help. Instead of showing me nearby places on a map - they took me to it. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were always helpful, friendly and very professional. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The location was good, very near to the corniche .On the main road of hamdan street so very near to all shops and departmental stores. Nothing fancy,but a perfect place to stay for tourists or people travelling on business.Rooms were of good size and service was top notch.
