The Hotel is in the middle of the Heart of the City with all the necessary requirements like shopping, exchange, food etc. It is quite noisy but when in the room it is quite. Love the Breakfast and the Disco.

The staff and hotel more than met my expectations, especially as I was upgraded on arrival. The room was very comfortable and the hotel's facilities were good. Although they did not reply to my email prior to my arrival about a transfer to Mercure in Al Ain, the staff were able to organise this easily. It is slightly more expensive than going by ordinary taxi. The staff were also very helpful with information and a ticket for the Hop On-Hop-Off bus tour of Abu Dhabi.

The good points are free wi-fi, good in-house restaurants, pool and fitness center and impecable staff. Negative points? I can think of none. Word of warning, when you arrive at the airport be sure to tell your taxi driver that the Mercure is the former Novotel. He may get confused if you don't.

Every taxi driver knows the Mercure Center at Hamden Street. Since there is no Metro in Abu Dhabi and the bus waiting time seemed to be close to infinity, taxi was the only transportation that I used there and they were plentiful. Walked out in front of the hotel, a metered taxi was always there. The room was very comfortable. Free and fast wired internet (cable was provided) and a working desk environment made it an ideal place for me to do some work.

Buffet breakfast was good and the staff there was nice. It was a bit expensive compared to the price I paid (80 Dhrs) but I had no other choices since I had breakfast very early in the morning and the nearby restaurants were still closed. I did not try other restaurants in the hotel. Instead, I took taxis to nearby shopping centers and ate there.
