we have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel and used the bonus choice rate to an up grade to club room so that we could enjoy the unlimited use of soft drinks and tea and coffee during our stay and breakfast every morning. we found all staff to be welcoming and we enjoyed speaking with the staff in the club room each day. The club room is small but no problem to us during our stay as not many people in there but during busy times i guess it would be cramped plus we dont smoke and there is a smoking section but this did not affect us as again not many people in there when we visted but you could smell smoke on the corridor near the lifts at times. We had two rooms, one facing the beach and the other facing the pool, neither rooms were affected by the construction going on and were very quiet. Rooms lovely with nice bathrooms and a balcony, kept very clean by the housekeeping staff. We enjoyed walking to the souk next door and the shangri la hotel, again staff lovely at the shangri la, we were lucky enough to use the infinity pool at the shangri la due to maintainance work currently being carried out on the Traders pool. We also used the beach and again the beach staff were excellent. The souk as a small number of restaurants and shops but there is a starbucks and a deli that both do takeaway sandwiches should you want a snack. The Grand mosque is close by for visiting and is definately worth a visit, the hotel does have a shuttle bus to the mosque and the malls but we never used it and always got taxis which are very cheap to get around but sometimes the driving is erratic and fast ! Thre are also golf buggies to take you to the souks and shangri la and also little boats that go between the two hotels which is lovely. The Malls and the corniche areas are quite far away approx 25 minutes in a taxi but we loved the location of the traders hotel as wanted to relax and stay by the beach but this might put you off if you want to visit the corniche area and Marina Mall more than once, in that case a hotel nearer like the hilton would be better for you. We ate at the Afya restaurant in the hotel and the food was delicious with a wonderful salad bar selection to help yourselves to go with your meal and this was like a meal on its own! We were able to take cold drinks from the club lounge to the Shangri la during the day when we used the pool at the shangri la as it is quite a distance to come back for drinks etc and the shangri La pool staff came round with cool boxes with water in them too and we was able to put our cans in them to keep them cool. We would definately return to this hotel in the future should we vist Abu Dhabu again.
Room Tip: high floor away from construction site
