We found this hotel with some help from the one friendly staff member at Doha airport. We needed somewhere to get our heads down during a 13 hour wait for a connecting flight from Bangkok back to England. It was near the airport so very convenient and the price was ok too. The reception staff were ok but no smiles or niceties were offered and you couldn't imagine them doing any more than they had to for you, even if thumb screws were evident. We ordered room service from the restaurant which was a good middle eastern mezze and a tasty pizza. I'd avoid the cappuccinos like the plague though! The waiter and the porter were both very friendly and polite and the room was comfortable, clean and spacious to sleep and shower in. However an empty fridge and no tea or coffee making facilities. Over all somewhere functional if you just want to recharge your batteries on the way somewhere else but lacking in atmosphere, style and good customer service at reception to warrant a stay of more than a day or two.

“Economical hotel for the money”

Travelled to Qatar on a business trip along with my collegue who booked this hotel. The stay was comfortable there and the restaurant served a good breakfast. Since my travel was during Ramzan, I could manage food late evening without going out of the hotel. The staff was courteous, free Internet in the room were the value addition. Good lobby for business discussions is an added advantage. The taxi facility was pathetic in the locality and may be because of Ramzan.

On arrival you are greeted by friendly staff but English, although commonly spoken in the Middle east is not as good as it could be, especially considering this is a Hotel!

The reception, corridors, open spaces and rooms are all clean. My bathroom was not the best, reminding more of a cheap Spanish resort rather than an incredily wealthy oil state! However the wireless internet in reception was fast and efficient and easy to log on too with lots of plugs for recharging your laptop! Unlike Dubai, they didnt charge for the access which made a nice change. The food in the restaurnt here was aimed at the Arab and Indian pallets but this was not a problem for me.

Check out was a bit of a nightmare as the staff decided to not take my companies card which the booking was made with and charge me cash instead. I would send an email in advance and get this straight before you make a booking!

The Hotel is very close to a huge supermarket, literally a 2 minute walk where lots of familiar brands are available in case you get the munchies! However it does seem to be and feels a million miles from anything, almost a bit isolated even in this big city!!

Taxis are a bit tricky so I was told in Doha but the Hotel does have a private hire company available at very good rates. However when the driver came to pick me up late in the evening after some time spent in Al Corniche (by the bay) he turned up with 3 of his mates in the car which was a bit unnerving but I have to say, cruising around Doha in a Chevy with 3 actually friendly Bangladeshi guys listening to Lily Allen was quite an experience.

I have to go to Doha again for business, but if I have a choice I will look for a Hotel a little closer to the action.
