I stayed at this hotel for 2 days. The service was excellent. I really liked the staff at the reception, very friendly and do a genuine effort to make you feel welcome. Room was good, I had a room on the 6th floor. Its clean, has a comfortable bed, and the curtains make it pitch dark, even when its light outside. The LCD TV has a decent picture, and channel choices are excellent. But be careful, there is a menu with a pre-selection for all English channels. If using that, you miss out of a lot of good English channels like MBC action, MBC2 etc. This is something the hotel must look into.
Internet access is a key requirement for me. In the room, via the network cable it is lighting fast. Wifi is OK, but it depends where you are; down in the lounge and lobby there are many “dead” areas. Choose where you sit carefully if you need internet access. Internet access is available for free as long you rent a room.
There is a Belgium bar, and a Mexican bar. Both are excellent, and also one of the reasons why I stay again in this hotel. The band playing in Paloma (Mexican Bar) is really nice, and to a biggest extent drives the atmosphere there. I’m not sure if there is a band in the Belgium bar.
I can strongly recommend this hotel, it definitely is my place to stay next time in Doha!
