A disappointing hotel, especially given the price and four star rating. I stayed here twice for a total of 3 nights. Both rooms I got smelled slightly damp, quite an achievement in a hot country with little rainfall! The beds were extremely comfortable. The rooms were sufficiently clean but had a slightly shabby, uncared for air. The room has amenities such as tea/coffee making facilities, TV and fridge. However the power in my room failed on the second day of my second stay, rendering all of that useless.
The hotel is poorly located, miles from any of the sights in Muscat. The nearest restaurant (other than the hotel's own) is a good 10 minute walk away. There is a beach nearby and the Qurum park is about 20 minutes' walk. To get to Mutrah, the forts, the Grand Mosque etc. you'd need to hire a car or book a taxi.
The staff were generally helpful but not always well organised and at one point they tried to charge me for an extra night's accommodation I hadn't had. I didn't have a great deal of confidence in the staff to deal with any situation.
If I stay in Muscat again I will definitely want to be closer to the centre. In all honesty, I could stay in much lower starred, cheaper hotel and probably get the same quality.
