I am an American with extensive travel to the GCC area. I had a four night stay at the hotel in late October, and found the experience disappointing. In general the hotel staff seemed confused and appeared to lack training. Check-in took about 15 minutes, and seemed to involve a significant amount of confusion. When I asked the concierge for a local map they seemed confused by the request, and eventually produced a map for a charge of 1.5 OMR. No one had any suggestions for local activities. I found it somewhat strange that when I requested a rollaway bed I was charged for both an extra guest (10 OMR), plus a charge for the bed (10 OMR). The hotel is dated looking, even by Muscat standards. I recommend some of the other western hotel chains.

Check-in: it required 3 persons to perform the check-in. They seemed to be lost with the computer system.

Room are old furnished and bathroom was not very clean (on the floor). This hotel needs a serious refurbishment. We were at the Executive floor and the lounge is pretty poor in food and beverage.

Staff and food were Ok but exceptional. Breakfast buffet is not that exceptional.

Conclusion: disappointing experience. I explicitly choose the Sheraton because I’m Starwood Preferred Gold member, but I think I should have taken another hotel.

I stayed at the Hotel for 4 Nights. It was an excellent stay. Great service from the staff. Executive rooms are very well equipped. Free access to business centre, free drinks every evening at the business centre. Amazingly fantastic food and the staff were very courteous and service minded. Would recommend to all compared to the pricey Hyatt.

I stayed at the sheraton on my first visit to Muscat. I had a goiod time. I was in the executive room on the 9th floor. The room and the beds were excellent. The entertainment was good. Business Centre was good and helpful. The staff were very good and I would say great Customer service, The Omani staff is not as good but the other staff was excellent.
