“Visit to Oman”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

We stayed at the Chedi upon recommedation of a friend and we were not disappointed. It is a great place to stay, quiet and still near to the city of Muscat. The rooms are very nice, rainshower, spacious bathroom. The spa is great and also the pools, especialy the newest one at the back of the hotel, near to the Spa. Excellent food and wine list.
Very friendly staff, we will defenitely come back next time we will go to Oman.

“Beautiful hotel”

I agree with most of the other reviews...a stylish, minimalist, beautiful hotel. A very peaceful ambiance with 3 pools and well kept grounds. The food is excellent as well and you can tell that many locals come to the hotel restaurant - a very good sign. One of our party stayed in a villa which was laid out very well. I was in a regular room and while it was good, I have to admit I am not a fan of having vanity area / shower / toilet all in different areas / cubicles. Overall a great stay for a few days (unfortunately I could only stay 1 night on this trip but have been to the restautant while on a business trip to Muscat).

“special hotel but pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We stayed 3 nights in a beach view suite which was colonial in style with dark wood flooring. the bathroom was special with a stone sunken bath.... really amazing at night when the candles are lit and the low lighting around the room is lit. the sofa area was a little tired and old but generally the hotel grounds and pool areas are amazing. we opted for the club experience but it was disappointing as only provided a few nibbles early evening although the mini bar was included ...so poor in comparison to most 5 star Dubai hotels.
At night the hotel is very special with all the place lit up with torches and candles but at 1000€ a night I'm sure you can get alot more in hotels in Dubai and we expected it to be absolutely faultless

“Worth a few nights stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

The hotel and grounds are stunning. The staff are helpful and friendly.

However, the room was perhaps not as clean as it should have been and the telephones and wi-fi slowly packed up over our stay.

Occasionally, service at breakfast would be a difficulty (forgotten items ordered from the kitchen) and having our bags collected on check-out was a slow process.

While the standard rooms have complementary beer/soft drinks in the minibar and good in-room facilities generally (e.g. Bose iPod/radio system) the rooms were quite small. The food was very good but not outstanding.

The gym is great. There are plenty of sun loungers and again, the hotel looks stunning.

“An excellent weekend break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We have just returned from a weekend break at the Chedi (Friday morning to Saturday night). As everyone says, the hotel is fantastic. You feel relaxed as soon as you walk in being handed a cold towel and a fresh made juice while the formalities of check in are taken care of. We arrived at the hotel around 11AM and our room was not ready. However, the hotel told us exactly where to go to change and said we could start using the facilities immediately. Our room was a standard room on the 1st floor near the Family pool and overlooking the main restaurant courtyard. A nice spacious room with modern fixtures and fittings. The included mini-bar is a very nice touch and you don't feel that the hotel is ripping you off to have water or a coke or beer. The only downside to the room, believe it or not, is the lack of spare power outlets. We needed to charge a few phones and some ipads but could only find one socket. There is a bose ipod dock which helped but overall, a minor bug to deal with. A couple of people have mentioned the fact that there is no door to the bathroom and the shower/toilet doors so it can be noisy but we didn’t even notice this.

There are 3 pools and all are in immaculate condition. We were able to find somewhere to sit at all times and the attendants were very attentive, always refilling our cold water without asking. There were plenty of towels and everyone was very accommodating. The beach is stony (not sandy) but nice and pleasant with plenty of lounge chairs to use.

From a food point of view, we have 4 meals at the hotel. Lunch at the middle pool was great and very relaxed. The wagyu burger is definitely worth trying. Dinner on the Friday night was the main restaurant which was very good. They say you need a reservation but we called and booked with 30mins notice. The breakfast is in the same main restaurant and is excellent with plenty of choices both on the menu and in the buffet. Our last meal was lunch by the Family pool where they also serve wood-fire pizzas.

Check out is noon but you can still use the facilities after checkout. The hotel just extended our account so we could continue to charge things. I’m not sure if a late checkout is an option but it didn’t seem like it would be, or at least not for those in the lower priced rooms.
To cap the trip off, we wanted a quick tour around the city before we flew. The hotel called us a taxi and what was supposed to be a quick drop off ended up being a full tour of the city for 2.5 hours and an airport drop off for 23 Omani Rials. Definitely worth doing (Call Aziz [--]).

Overall an excellent trip at an excellent hotel. Look forward to heading back there soon.
