I just came back from 5 nights at the Royal Plaza hotel and found it to be quite an average hotel with nothing special to recommend it or not to.

To simplify my review, I'll list the good qualities then the not so good.

Good:

1 - Amazing location overlooking the Mediterranean. Full or partial views of this beautiful sea from all rooms.Mine had a partial but fantastic view.

2 - Friendly professional staff. Efficient and eager to please.

3 - Great food. the room service is 24 hours and surprisingly good and varied.

4 - Spacious rooms and a really opulent lobby.

Now the not so great:

1 - Despite being relatively new, the hotel does need renovations. My spacious room had chipped wallpaper, a dent in the bathroom door and an older carpet.

2 - Their swimming pool is tiny and i mean tiny and is contracted out to a pvt company that runs their rooftop bar so you'ree under the mercy of the barowners on when u can use it.

3 - The corridors have a slightly worn out look.

4 - The water pressure in their bathroom is very weak.

5 - Their buffet breakfast is very limited especially compared to other Beirut hotels I've stayed in .

Anyway, i recommend this hotel only if u get a good rate, otherwise stay elsewhere.
