“Well Managed Property Given Age”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2010

This is an older hotel, and one which would benefit from cinsiderable investment in renovation and upgrades. Set gainst that the management obviously work hard to compensate via good service, a 'customer comes first" attitude and a very friendly welcome. Only one restaurant and few options nearby but selection on buffet available is wide. Included in room rate breakfast is good. Work needed on quality of TV reception and choice of channels plus the Wi-Fi connectivity (poor in many rooms).

“Great Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2009

I had an 8 hour lay over in Kuwait before i catch my connecting flight to Manila. Kuwait Airways has given me a room at Safir. My room was fantastic, it has 2 single beds beside a huge glass window, a WIFI access on my floor, a ref, a TV with English channels, and a well attended bathroom. The staff from the reception counter was polite and the Manager of the Main Dining was also as accommodating. The Manager, an Indian looking fellow had charged the battery of my mobile phone and had it brought up to my room. I could say I was pampered here. They gave me a call to have my dinner and again to prepare myself to catch my bus that will take me back to the airport. They also have a small DFS on the lobby where you can buy a last minute presents.

“Excellent hotel in slightly out of the way location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2009

The Safir International offered large, well furnished rooms with a high level of service at a fair price. This was my second visit to this hotel and I will return.

Room: A reasonably large, well furnished, immaculate room with a beautiful view of the Gulf. Bathroom was luxurious and well equipped, with good quality linens. Good quality linens and toiletries, fresh fruit, and coffee/tea service. Free newspaper in mornings. One drawback -- wifi signal was weak in my room.

Other facilities and services: Excellent breakfast buffet with varied international selections in the top floor restaurant. Large well appointed second level lobby. Functional but drab lower lobby with access controls. Check-in was efficient and courteous.
Tip: Use the hotel’sefficient free car service from and to the airport.

Location: The one drawback is the slightly out of the way location. The hotel is surrounded by vacant lots awaiting development. Unlike the Sheraton and Four Points, there is no lively marketplace or mall within easy walking distance.
Tip: Lower lobby transit staff are happy to call a taxi. Our longest wait for a taxi was only a few minutes.

“Warm service, splendid views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2009

Delightfully warm service exceeding expectations at all levels - reception, at the door, restaurants, banquets. The food was excellent, better than other hotel restaurants. The restaurant on the 19th floor has fabulous views of the sea and skyline, not to miss. Very well appointed rooms and very clean. Highly recommend.
