The Safir International offered large, well furnished rooms with a high level of service at a fair price. This was my second visit to this hotel and I will return.
Room: A reasonably large, well furnished, immaculate room with a beautiful view of the Gulf. Bathroom was luxurious and well equipped, with good quality linens. Good quality linens and toiletries, fresh fruit, and coffee/tea service. Free newspaper in mornings. One drawback -- wifi signal was weak in my room.
Other facilities and services: Excellent breakfast buffet with varied international selections in the top floor restaurant. Large well appointed second level lobby. Functional but drab lower lobby with access controls. Check-in was efficient and courteous.
Tip: Use the hotel’sefficient free car service from and to the airport.
Location: The one drawback is the slightly out of the way location. The hotel is surrounded by vacant lots awaiting development. Unlike the Sheraton and Four Points, there is no lively marketplace or mall within easy walking distance.
Tip: Lower lobby transit staff are happy to call a taxi. Our longest wait for a taxi was only a few minutes.
