“Great staycation from start to finish.”

My husband and I did a mini vacation at this hotel to celebrate our birthdays. We were very impressed with the room. The bed was firm, but we are both more comfortable on a firm mattress anyway. We both slept very well. The room was incredibly quiet, even with the construction going on outside.

We had heard good things about the Friday brunch and we were not disappointed? The food was very good, with a huge variety (breakfast, sushi, Asian cuisine, as well as more European selection), and the desert selection was fantastic! There was a live band--a slightly cheesy surprise but it turned out to be a delight after the first few glasses of endless champagne kicked in. The brunch is definitely worth the price (~25 BD). If you'd just bought the alcohol alone, you'd spend more.

The hotel staff was very polite, responsive, and respectful all the way from check in to check out. We enjoyed an after dinner drink at Mondo and almost kicked ourselves for not having dinner there, the menu looked great.

“NICE HOTEL”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

Spent 3 days here on business. The hotel is about 10 minutes from BAH, next to a Crowne Plaza, in the diplomatic area.
Room was average size but nicely appointed. Small sofa, coffee table, chair, nice desk/chair, tv stand with 32" tv (nice channel selection), luggage stand, king size bed. The bed was comfortable. OK closet with safe, iron/ironing board (smaller than usual). Nice bathroom; no bath robes, but sandals). The room was clean upon arrival and was kept clean throughout my visit. CAUTION: the hotel has both smoking and non-smoking rooms. A colleague stayed in a smoking room, which had a rather strong tobacco smell.
Internet was included in my room rate. There was both connected and wireless; speed was average to slow, and occasionally dropped off line.
There is construction next to the hotel, but I did not notice any noise. Parking is somewhat limited. The pool and gym were nice. The hotel has a couple of restaurants with average food and typically high hotel prices. The pub is very good.
While close to the airport, there is not much else within comfortable walking distance. The malls, souq in the Bab al Bahrain area, and restaurants in the Adalya area are 5-10 minutes by taxi.
Overall a nice hotel for business and probably not bad for a layover or short holiday for couples.

“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

I spent 2 days in this hotel. ALthough it's been refurbished in the outdoors, the indoors were great!! If you don't smoke (as me) ask for a NON SMOKING ROOM otherwise you'll have pretty bad smell on your room. The Pub in the hotel is a big plus.

Room Tip: non smoking

“Great rooms, good pool.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

I only had ten hours in Bahrain and booked a room at the Raidsson for some sleep. The rooms are large and the bed was firm. I went swimming before going to bed and was the only one in the pool. It was Ramadan and the other guests were probably tucking into their iftar meal. Overall, the hotel is fine. I don't think I would rate it a five star hotel. But for a few hours sleep, it was more than adequate.

“An excellent stopover at this top notch hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2011

This was a 24 hour stopover on my way back to Europe, and being Ramadan and hence very quiet, the best hotels were avaialble for very good discounts.

My room was one of the best I have stayed in (which is a lot): spacious, well appointed, maintained and clean. The staff were helpful and pleasant, and provided me a late checkout at no extra cost. When I wanted to get to the airport during prayer time (no taxis), one of the staff offered to drive me. And no, it wasn't a rip-off.

Breakfast buffet was very good, with a wide range of hot and cold dishes, and plenty of choice for either a healthy or a heavy breakfast. Pleasant surroundings and an endless flow of tea got the day off to a good start. An hour or so in the business centre saw all those last minute emails sent on their way.

A short but pleasant stay and, given the timing, excellent value!

Room Tip: Good views of the harbour from the rooms at the fornt of the hotel.
