If you drive from Riyadh late-ish Wednesday night and don't want to pay up for the Ritz when you're going to check in at nealry midnight, this'll do perfectly well for B&B and then move on in the morning. The breakfast is pretty good. The Sheraton over the road is better for a nightcap.

I stayed at the Tulip for a day while waiting for my connecting flight to Frankfurt. I found everything perfectly OK, absolutely nothing to complain about. The pool was a nice feature, room, bed, bathroom were excellent. The location was good enough to go for a walk and explore the area. Very polite staff. I cannot comment on value for the money as the cost were covered by Gulf Air.

I serendipodously stumbled upon this excellent hotel when I arrived in Bahrain very late and needed a pillow for the night. The pillows by the way, were big and comfy, which is good because I have a big, knobly head.
I had the best breakfast ever before my week in Saudi eating Pakistani dishes (curried tramps-foot I believe).
Not sure what a lengthy stay would be like but I'd give it a go.
