“Dated but the service was top notch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

The Al Kohozama is one of the oldest hotels in central Riyadh and sits below the Al Faisaliah tower. Yes by being the oldest it does look a bit dated and tired but the staff and service was fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble and very quick to assist.
Room was clean and functional, room service very quick and food delivered was great.
The breakfast buffet was a sometimes a little cold but there was a chef ready to cook to order some dishes.
The hotel also provided transportation to and from the airport and the cars and drivers were also good - waited for 3 hours in arrivals whilst i queued in that everlasting immigration queue.
Overall a very pleasant stay and if returning would happliy stay here again

“Old hotel in Riyadh”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

- Rooms small for Saudi/Arab standards.
- Good location next to Al Faisaliah Mall.
- Nice buffet garden (yet expensive) with good views of the tower, a gem in downtown Riyadh.
- Old hotel (70s), with old utilities.
- Free access to gym and swimming pool in Faisaliah complex.
- Check-in staff is unprofessional but this is what you may expect in most of Saudi Arabia.
- Prices are high but on par with Riyadh... but for that price you can stay at any Holiday Inn which are more modern.

“Older Hotel in Riyadh”

I was on a business trip arranged by others. The hotel is older and contains old world charm and needs some updating. The lobby has many places it sit and smoke inside. My room also has ash trays, but I there was no smell of smoke in the room. The hotel was busy when we booked the room, so there were only suites available. The room had a bedroom, living room, and 2 bathrooms. The room was clean and comfortable. The Prayer Call from outside was loud enough to wake me at 5:30AM. There is a marker on the desk to show the direction of Mecca. The hotel restaurant had reasonable food for a late night dinner. The breakfast buffet was large with many good choices. The free wireless internet was good and strong. The hotel staff was very attentive and all spoke good English. If I return to Riyadh, I would probably look first for a hotel that had been updated, but it would be acceptable to stay here again.

Dear Sir,

It was really a pleasure having you with us during your recent visit to Riyadh and would like to thank you for your unscheduled stay at the Hotel Al Khozama.

We are indeed happy to note that you were mostly satisfied with our standards of service during your last stay and thank you once again for your constructive feedback, because it is only due to honest and direct feedback that we find out where we stand and understand the expectations of our valued guests. It is also a pleasure to receive comments praising individuals or the services of the hotel because it gives us pleasure to note that your efforts have been recognized.

Regarding your comment on the room facility we hope for your understanding on the fact that the Al Khozama being a Hotel constructed 33 years ago to meet the needs of that era, the standard rooms are relatively small compared to the spacious hotel rooms in newly built modern properties. However, we have been carrying out periodical refurbishments, whenever the need arose, to maintain the rooms in the best possible standard to surpass the expectations of our valued guests, nevertheless, due to the pre-fabricated structure of the building, we were not able to do any structural changes to expand the size of the rooms, thus the standard rooms remain smaller in size. However, for the Guests who prefer more spacious rooms, we have Suite and Double rooms with King size beds and therefore, we have taken note of your preference of a more comfortable larger bed, to accommodate you accordingly during your future stays with us.

As regards the burn marks on the bed frame in the room you occupied, the Housekeeping staff has certainly failed to spot the burn marks and rectify them and we assure you that it will be immediately attended. The other areas such as Television in the room etc., which you have pointed out as requiring further improvements will be resolved in an up-coming refurbishment program, which is under consideration at present, because guest comfort and satisfaction are our primary concerns.

Whilst we reiterate our appreciation of your constructive comments, we assure you of our best attention at all times and look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back to the Hotel Al Khozama and remain.

Sincerely,

Erik Huyer

“If you don't mind the smoke this is a great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I spent a few days in Riyadh on business and this was a very good stay compared to some previous stays in this city. The service was great, check in and check out was a cinch and the breakfast buffet and room service were very fresh and of high quality. The rooms on the business floor were very conformable and clean and the sports facilities were more than enough for a few day business trip. The only issue I had was the the air pushed AC system brought very interesting smells from a nearby kitchen and what bothered me the most was cigarette smoke. I had this issue in another hotel in Riyadh as well but they explained that I was staying in a non smoking room on a smoking floor but his time I was on a non smoking floor.

Room Tip: Try to get the rooms facing the garden because the front side faces the street and it can get very n...

“Comfortable stay in Riyadh. Great Staff. Excellent Value.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

My family traveled to Riyadh with three other families for an event. We arrived late and they quickly checked us in so the kids could get to bed. The rooms had a typical layout and were comfortable and clean. They allow smoking in the lobby, but that is typical in Riyadh. Breakfast was delicious and the waiters were very attentive and friendly. We did not use the pool, but the sports club was very nice with a lunch counter, squash courts and good exercise equipment. The staff was friendly and helpful. All of our requests were handled kindly and professionally. Next time I go to Riyadh, I will be staying at the Al Khozama again.

Room Tip: Rooms facing away form the street are quiet.
