“THE MOST NOISY HOTEL ON THE PLANET”

I stayed 7 nights in this hotel and I couldn't sleep even one night.I T WAS THE MOST TERRİBLE HOTEL I HAD EVER BEEN!Because there is the main cooling unit of masjid al-haram just accross the hotel.I felt like sleeping over the engine of an airbus.Besides the sound never ends. The generator of cooling unit is active during all 24 hours. And there is a warning on the building: "be careful, there is 132 000 volt energy in the cabels entering this building".Can you imagine the huge electromagnetic field and its side effects?NEVER TRY THIS HOTEL,IN FACT NEVER WALK AROUND THIS HOTEL.

“An Okay hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2010

I stayed in the hotel on various occasions on my umrah trips. They have upgarded the hotel few years ago. All in all an okay hotel. A comfortable one to stay. Though the location is small negative for me. It is situated on the mountain. The walk from Haram is not much. But one has to take elevators at the end of the Ajyad road to reach the hotel. These probably the highest elevators in Makkah. Elders would prefer to use the bus- available from the entrance of the hotel to Haram (King Abdul Aziz Gate - Number 1). Th ebus route is pretty tricky. Sometime they have to make a U-turn from the tunnel which is only possible after 2 Km. This takes time and hence need an early exit from the hotel for every prayer. If you are looking for a decent hotel in a reasonable price, then go for it. Alternatively, look out for Ajyad Makkah that is situated on the base of the same mountain and is an affordable 5-star hotel

Customer services and front disk were fair in dealing with customers very slow, most of the bus 's drivers are not friendly, small dininig area compare to # of rooms, extremely hard for any one who has wheel-chair and walking with cane to enter or exit the hotel

“Need English speaking receptionist”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2008

We were there this month. One of the low par ELAF hotel in SA. Medina ELAF is best. Pls check your pillows before you used it. We had 3 beds room and 2 beds has stain pillpws and ordors. I have to cover with towels to sleep. Good A/C.

Strongly suggest the hotel management to hire FRIENDLY english speaking staffs in your receptionist desk. When I was there, I asked one of the major hotel address in Jeddah, which can be easily find in phone books or hotels website. The young receptionist desk staffs all of the sudden speaking from English and told me in Arabic that he did not speak ENGLISH. They were lazy to assist the customer or their attitude.

I was shock..and I asked for manager and finally they send me to 2nd floor where "Asian" hotel manager office. I told the situation and he apologize and told me the address with out looking anything.

Mecca is our holiest city and .multi nationalilty people came for good deed every day. Pls hire friendly multi language speaking receptionists in your hotel. Pls trained your hotel staffs for friendly attitude and respect your customers who contribute your icome.

“Good for Hajj, but look elsewhere for Umrah”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2007

i stayed at this hotel when doing my hajj in 2003. It was a quadruple room, so pretty crampy. Checking in was disastrous, it took more than an hour to book us, 20 people (in madinah, it took only 10 mins). The food was OK, but i think better buy at restaurants or stalls lining up to the Haram. IF you think of staying here for Umrah, stay elsewhere nearer (intercontinental, elaf kindah, hilton etc), cos it's an uphill walk back from the Haram. if it's during hajj season, i wouldn't mind cos i don't want to pay hilton price, and considering many fellow pilgrims stay at much farther places. There's a nice ice cream stall otw to Haram, on the left side across the hospital. Yumm
