This was my third overnight stay at this hotel, which is inevitable if you miss your flight and are put up by Royal Jordanian. Pluses: the people are really nice, and the rooms are very well appointed for business travelers. The food: not first class ingredients at all, the preparation and presentation is below par, and there is a smell of old food throughout the entire ground floor. That is a problem with the ventilation system, but very noticeable. I should not complain, I guess, because my room was free when my flight was delayed 24 hours.

I decided to stay at the "Golden Tulip" only because my flight landed in Amman at 3 A.M. and I did not want to go downtown since I had to pick up my car at the airport at 10 A.M.
There was a guy waiting for us at the airport and he took us to the hotel, which is a 2 minutes drive away. The room was comfortable and clean and that's all I was asking for; the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, but it's good for a very short stay or if you want to rest before or after a long flight.

Certainly this is a hotel for just a short stay, but even for this we did not like it - there was some strange (not pleasant) smell in the air, renovation works creating noise, and looks of the room creating a feeling of dirtiness. Service was poor too.

My first impressions of this hotel based on the reception and the reception staff was in fact VERY positive, they were really helpful, when I got to the room there was a notice warning about noise as they are renovating, personally I would have prefferd to be told that BEFORE arrival, the room was good, no problems, however there was noise late at night which I could have done without. I would though stay here again.
