Recently stayed for 2 nights at Le Meridien having stayed many times over the last 15 years. The hotel has undergone quite a lot of refurbishment work in the last few years and this time my stay was in the newer wing of the hotel (compared to the tired rooms in the original wing last time). I paid the premium for the 'Club' upgrade, which includes internet, access to the lounge with breakfast, happy hour and an evening buffet - for an additional 30JOD this practically pays for itself. However, breakfast is pretty limited in choice and the lounge gets busy whenever there are free food and drinks. Also, the lounge is on the 8th floor in the old part of the hotel and therefore a bit of a trek from the new wing. Not a huge problem unless you have difficulty getting around.
I don't think the room is any different for the club upgrade but mine was fine - I guess a twin with two decent (queen) size beds in which I slept very well (not often the case). Free internet is by lan cable only (at least in the new wing) which was annoying, but wifi is available in the lobby and club lounge.
Bathroom was not great - the shower curtain in my room wasn't long enough to reach the bath so inevitably shower-time got the floor pretty wet but the water pressure wasn't so strong as to make this a huge problem, just a silly mistake.
The hotel was very busy during my stay apparently owing to an influx of Libyans getting medical help but the various restaurants were still pretty quiet. On the first night we had steak in 'Bar 282' which was pretty good and the second night ate at their Benihana which was ok but not as part of the original hotel looking a little worn.
Overall none of this diminished my experience that much and I would be happy to return for my next visit.
Room Tip: Pay the 30JOD for the club lounge, and try to get a room in the new wing,

Dear guest,
Thank you for sharing your kind comments on our website.
The new entrance to the hotel has been designed to add timeless, uncontained space to the lobby and to enhance the arrival experience. We are also extremely proud of our outlets, especially 282 Steaks and Lounge which offers the best Certified Angus Beef in Town. Benihana is also known for its fresh sushi and tasty Teppanyaki. Please accept our apologies about the shower curtains, as we are in the process of changing them. As our hotel is one of the biggest in town and is mostly busy with guests, this process might take a month to complete.
Thank you again and looking forward to welcoming you soon at your second home; Le Meridien Amman.
