“Great Value for your Sheckels”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

Arriving in the middle of the night with no reservations made, I happened to find this place open and welcoming. The night attendart, John welcomed me stating that they had a nice all female dorm available. He helped me up the 2 flights of stairs. The room was nice and well kept with bunkbeds. The bedding was clean. It had a little table in the middle with chairs that you could write or eat from. I really liked the balcony that faced the street. Free Muffins and coffee in the morning for breakfast. The second cup of coffe is 5 sheckels. Nice open back yard area to sit and reflect. Computer service available. Nice market right on the corner to buy some goodies with a bank just across the street. 3 blocks to the Mediterranean Sea. Be aware that is can be quite expensive coming in from the airport. I was charged 150 sheckels which I think was a bit much. See if you can get a "shared" taxi from the airport which is way, way less. Overall I liked this place and the staff. Nice Value for the money.

Room Tip: Room 7 all female dorm with balcony

“Minable and overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

Dreadful !! This place is horrible, just on Ben Yehuda St, it's noisy, polluted, and so expensive for such crappy rooms like that !! More than 20€ for 10 M2, 2 sleazy beds, dirty shared bathroom and industrial breakfast. Sleep on the beach might be more comfy, less noisy.
I don' t recommend this place more worry about making cash than investing in some new
materials for the tired backs of the backpackers on a budget. Almost anything asked has a price in this crummy yardstick. Don't go. Try something else !

“Don't go there!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

The only positive thing about the hostel is the staff, who is quite friendly.
The rooms are dirty and run down. My bed was dirty and full of sand. Of 4 loft beds, only one had a ladder to climb up. You cannot lock the door to the rooms, in fact You cannot even close it properly. In the lobby You can sit in chairs, but the air is hot and muggy because of cigarette smoke. The breakfast is merely a piece of (dry) cake and instant coffee. And the worst thing is the noise. Somewhere in the vicinity is a club, which plays loud music the whole night. The rooms have no air conditioning, so you have the leave open the windows to the street. Don't think about getting actual sleep there.
Do not go there!

“not impressed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

we werent impressed with our stay at Momo's...and to be fair, we werent expecting much in the first place, but we got a whole lot less! the main point of digust was the ashtrays in the hallways... i know they are trying to keep smokers out of the room, but the rooms smelt like smoke anyway, to the point where the bathroom towels seriously STANK of cigarettes! the vibe of the place was friendly enough, and i feel that its the atmosphere of the place that keeps the hostel in business, and its handy location too but the value of it was way off the mark - i would have happily paid half of what i ended up paying!

“Very cheap”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

Nothing at all special about this hostel - however for the price paid that wasn't expected! Two of us shared a private twin room, the only complaint that they didn't change the sheets when asked as one of the room-mates swtiched. Breakfast was literally a cake and coffee but that's all that was advertised, and staff helpful when asked. Perfect location, and pretty clean so no huge issues. Aircon was available for a more expensive price so we stuck to the fan and that was fine, even in July. Distinctly average.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor and I think the dorm rooms next to us were over very loud speakers - i...
