“Clean, friendly and safe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Having visited a friend in the North of Israel I was travelling to Tel Aviv by myself and a bit nervous as to where to stay. Having found this hotel on Trip Advisor I was delighted that it lived up to it's reputation. The staff are very friendly and helpful - especially when I was asking about where to eat etc ... The hotel itself is just a one minute walk from the beach and also very easy to get to from the train station or airport. The room was very clean with wifi available at no extra charge plus free use of the computer downstairs in the dining room. Where the breakfast was just right to get me started for the day.

Room Tip: Rooms get booked up fast, so try and book as soon as you can!

“Don't be fooled by the pictures...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Beware, the pictures of this place are very misleading. It's not just that the rooms aren't as elegant as they are portrayed; rather, the rooms are actually extremely tiny, spartan, and rundown. In addition, cleanliness in the bathroom was very questionable, with stains from mold (and other things I don't want to know about?) that were never quite cleaned up properly.

Service was a joke. I went into the trip with someone who used to live in Israel and who warned me from the get-go that Israel was definitely not a service country, but I wasn't expecting the staff to be downright rude. First off, my boyfriend and I booked two rooms, one for ourselves and one for our friends. When we checked in, they claimed that no one ever booked the second room for our friends. They refused to help us at all until we called the website that we booked the hotel through for help and only then would the hotel honor the booking. That was only after they made sure to let us know in resentment that they had to kick other people out for us to get the room.

When we did get the room, it turned out to be a room with three beds as opposed to one with two beds (which we had booked for our friends). After the first night of staying there (and after already unpacking most of their stuff), our friends were awoken at around 8AM by the staff and were told that they had to vacate the room within three hours because the hotel needed the triple room for other guests. The room that they tried moving my friends to had only a single bed, which my friends were ok sharing, except that we knew there was a price difference between a room with a single bed and a room with two separate beds. When we requested a refund for the difference, they claimed that there was no difference until we showed them the paperwork, at which point they said doing the refund would be too much of a hassle and that my friends could stay in the original room which the hotel supposedly "needed". That the hotel is willing to sacrifice the comfort of its guests for the POSSIBILITY of someone else booking the bigger room for an extra $30 a night should say something about how they treat their customers.

Final horror story regarding service: we were told that breakfast is served from 7AM to 10AM. On one our last days, we showed up to breakfast at 9:50 planning on grabbing a very quick breakfast (they do buffet/serve yourself style). The food was still out, but there were no plates. When we asked a staff member if it would be too much to get two plates, he begrudgingly went to get the plates, and informed us that it actually was asking a lot, that it was a very big problem, and asked why we would show up 10 minutes before 10AM. We responded that if he didn't want people coming at 9:50AM , then the hotel should tell people that breakfast is served from 7AM to 9:30AM. That shut him up, but as soon as he got back to the kitchen area, he started complaining and talking trash about us in Hebrew, thinking we couldn't hear him or understand him. Surprise, we actually could hear him and even bigger surprise, my boyfriend knows Hebrew.

Anyway, it goes without saying that I would never stay here again. Like many other reviewers have pointed out, the place is a decent value for what it is, but unless you don't care about the hotel you're giving money to treating you with any sort of respect, stay away from this place.

“A Good Laugh!”

The staff at this hotel were great fun and helpful. We watched a western comedy together sharing views from diverse cultures.

Ok, the hotel is nothing like the pictures and if you want elegance and style, dont stay here. However, if you are budget traveller wanting a clean room in a very good location then I recommend the hotel.

I stayed in a double room. It was small but comfortable enough for me. It was cleaned each day and I had a balcony where I could see the beach and sea. The bed was comfortable and the shuttle stopped right outside the hotel which took you to the bus station costing about 10-15 shekels or so.

Getting taxis was a piece of cake as they were always outside or close to the hotel.

A word of warning when arriving in Tel Aviv. Take one of the official taxis from the airport and not one of the unofficial taxis. The prices are much cheaper. I paid about 170 Shekels to get to the beach from the airport. The unofficial ones cost 250 Shekels.

Breakfast is in a cosy room with plenty of choice. A good hearty breakfast can set you up for the day.

The hotel is right next to the beach and sea.

Next to hotel is a money exchanger and I got some good rates for conversion from Sterling into IND using my ATM card.

There are plenty of shops open till the early hours where you can buy supplies and that much needed bottle of water or can of coke.

If you take a right out of the hotel you can wander forever discovering plenty of boutique shops of varying sorts.

If you take a left then you are on the beach in 30 seconds.

I think the price of the room was a little overpriced and it does not have a lift not that I care.
However, a good location, clean rooms with a friendly staff and the taxi drivers all seem to know the hotel which saves a lot of hassle.

“Well priced, but fairly run down”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

This hotel was fairly well priced, however is quite run down and basic.

I was certainly disappointed when I checked in as I didn't feel the pictures looked very much like the rooms.

This would be fine for short visit for a traveller on a budget, however for the more decerning traveller you may want to look at something else.
