“At home in Tel Aviv...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Only a few days before leaving to Tel Aviv, I thought of booking a room, which was not easy to find. After reading some reviews, I decided to stay in the Gordon Inn, which seemed a good deal. I arrived by 2AM in the morning, got welcomed with a smile, Staff always joyful and ready to answer questions. Nice breakfast, free coffee and water all day long. Meeting many travellers, solo as well as couples and even families, exchanging information on travel. I wanted to indulge in luxury for the first night of my trip, but the friendly atmosphere and the superb location (5m from beach, 5m from resto/shops) made me go back. Had a nightflight back home, luggage got stored in the hotel, and got allowed taking a shower after the beach, got offered a fresh towel as had used mine on the beach. 'You are our guest until you leave' Highly recommended!

“Cheap digs in a great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011 via mobile

This is one of the best values in Tel Aviv. Staff is friendly, location is great, and the free breakfast is fantastic. Some of the best Shakshuka around!

“Good for budget traveling”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011 via mobile

Tel Aviv is a pricey city. All hotels we checked out were out of our price range. We were lucky to see Gordan Inn and got a decent room. Room was simple with TV filled with many US channels. (Was tired from watching only international news channels) Breakfast was so yummy with many eggs selections. Free wifi was provided in the dining area. Toilet is a bit old and not very clean. Free coffee and tea all day was good!

Two problems were noise from people hanging at the dinning area; and they close that area at midnight but that's the only place with wifi.

Overall, good backpacking hostel.

“Totally unreliable”

We booked 2 nights at this hostel through Hostelbookers for my teenage daughter travelling alone who would be arriving at 2.00am (she was in fact delayed until 5.00am) the website states it has 24hr reception. On arrival there was no access until after 9.00am and my daughter had to wait outside - not ideal! We sent 2 emails direct to the hostel to advise of early then delayed arrival. The hostel staff then charged her $90 for the 2 nights. A total scam!

“Nice enough”

Good location. Room was fairly clean, and there was plenty of space with a little refrigerator and a table with two chairs. Warm water in the shower, but like many of the showers in Israel they just can't seem to make one that doesn't get the entire floor wet and require a squeegee to clean it up.

We were permitted to leave our bags in a locked closet prior to check-in which was a big help. Staff members were rather abrasive, but efficient which was most important.

I was looking forward to the breakfast but disappointed to find out they were not serving until 8am. Since we needed to be up and out well before that we will never know how good that breakfast may have been.
