“Not quite as Grand as it looked online...”

Great location but was expecting a grander looking reception area and really looked drab - considering it had been refurbished. My first impression of the rooms was that I had gone back in time to halls of residence.
The good location for the beach, port and bars also brings the negative of traffic noise. A peaceful nights sleep it was not.
Breakfast was excellent. Reception staff a bit hit and miss.Lifts still not operating and pool closed, which was a shame as it would have been good place to view the area.

Room Tip: Generally a noisy hotel - perhaps a room away from the lifts at the end of a corridor?

“Did the job, but won't be returning”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

After waking up one morning to eat breakfast, my partner and I felt it wasn't worth getting up for. We could hear our neighbours doing- well, we heard their conversations to say the least. There was a massive miscommunication with the reception and our booking who accused me for adding a night to our booking even though i didn't give them a credit card and they told me i couldn't confirm without a credit. Oh the balagan... not worth the stress.
ON the positive- clean rooms, and great location! There is Olive around the corner who make nice sandwiches perfect for breakfast...

“Good location, standard service”

Good located hotel, close to do downtown, 30min to AirPort (if low trafic), 3 min to beach (to jog, swim or surf), 10 min walk to Old Harbour (nice restaurants).
Rooms are standard quality, clean, good eguiped.
Little bid slow reception staff and ONLY 1 running elevator for 11 storey hotel (2 were out of order).
So, why not, for short bussiness trip.....

Room Tip: Ask for higher Floor, lot of noise from the street.

“Good Rooms, Good Location, Good Staff, Good Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Booked a number of rooms here for a wedding party. Apart from the ongoing lift problem - they are upgrading them and often there is only one working - we al had a great stay. All our guests were in Premium rooms with the use of the business suite. The hotel overall is quite a basic 4 star. Fairly bland reception area and bar and restaurant. However the rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast is comprehensive but a bit of a bun fight. The hotel's location by the Promenade in North Tel Aviv is lovely. Even in winter we were able to enjoy walks along the beach. Overall good value, no nonsense practical hotel. Staff were very helpful as well.

“My experience at the Grand Beach Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

The rooms were small but clean and tidy. The maid service was good. The TV had no sound for the BBC news, which was fixed but then went out again. The food was good in the mornings and evenings. Dinners for a charge of $33 were good as well but I would not recommend eating there more than once as the food is pretty much the same everyday. What really bugged me was on Shabbat, the selections for food were limited, you could not get toast, squeeezed orange juice, scrambled eggs or an omelete. I respect the fact that it is a Jewish country and am pro-Israel in my outlook, but I do not understand why non-Jewish people could not use the toaster, orange squeezer or coffee machine as they are under no religious constraints whatsoever. Leaving them out does to us does not force anyone to do anything. Those who wanted to observe the Shabbat could still do so while not making life inconvenient for non-Jewish customers.
