Positives:
The location - Two short blocks from the beach (and within the blast radius of a truck bomb from the US embassy), with a handy laundry round the corner.
Pleasant staff, a decent breakfast, late check-out, a small lobby bar, 24hr reception, free wifi. Wifi speed is good, although mail was not functional on Apple devices. Accessing mail through Safari was possible. In fact, Tel Aviv is a highly wired city, we had no trouble getting wifi wherever we went.
A very pleasant beach nearby.
The breakfast offered many items, and was well worth getting up for. Choices included...
Pickled herring, mackerel, sardines, dolmades. A variety of cheeses.
Grapefruit. Hummus, guacamole,
hot vegetarian dishes, eggs, lots of fresh salad items. Filter coffee, juice drink (not fresh juice), cereals, loads of yoghurt, curd etc.
Service in the restaurant and bar is friendly and helpful.
Not-so-positives:
This is an older hotel, so be prepared for small rooms, antiquated bathrooms, poor shower pressure, worn, dated carpet and furniture. It's not really bad, just not at all new. If you are in Tel Aviv to hang out in your room, go elsewhere. If you just need a place to crash near the beach and a good breakfast, this is the hotel for you.
