“Left out in the Cold”

Excited for my first visit to Israel a friend recommended staying at a hotel along the beach. He mentioned they are all generally the same so I randomly selected the Crown Plaza. Arriving at the hotel at almost midnight I was told the hotel was overbooked and that I could not have a room, but that a new reservation had been made at another Crown Plaza in the city centre. When I asked for help to find another hotel on the Beach I was not provided any support and while I got a basic 'I'm sorry' - it did not seem sincere, nor did it include any compensation for their error.

I would NOT recommend staying at this hotel if you want any confidence that you will actually have a room for the night.

“Improved from previous stay, but there's room for more improvement”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I stayed at this hotel let's say about two years ago. If I recall correctly it was under renovation at that time. Now the rooms have been renovated and they look very nice and comfortable.

Additional improvements... the WiFi internet access now it's at no extra charge and it's quite fast 3 Mbps down and 3 Mbps up.

Nice. The breakfast buffet continues being excellent...The staff is professional and friendly.

Now, a couple of things which still need improvement:
- The heating system in the room was not warming up the air, so I turned it off and slept with my coat on.
- Also, I had to shower using the hand-held shower head because there was no way to have the water come off the shower head attached to the wall. (On the plus side... plenty of hot water and water pressure).

“Amazing Sabbath”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Arrived at the hotel on Thursday night and was greeted right away. Checking in was the most painless experience. Room and view was very beautiful. Perfect size. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Shul is based in the hotel and had a great minyan. The food was beyond amazing and the waiters as well. I am proud to say i had an amazing time here at the hotel for the weekend and look foward to spending the sabbath here again.

“One Word - Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

From perfect views of the Meditarrenean to an excellent location in the city everything was exquisit.

As someone observant of the Sabbath I found this hotel the best of those offered in Tel Aviv (having stayed in the Hilton and David Intercontinental previously) to respect that with the food being excellent in every respect and service magnificent.

The business experience was great in itself with the ability FREE OF CHARGE to book a conference room in the business lounge to meet with clients and on top of that being the only hotel i've experienced here offering free wifi.

To explain my experience in the hotel (with a relaxing dip in the heated pool, full use of the spa and 24 hour open bar) in further detail would be to bore you but I can only advise those visiting for business or please to come to the Crowne Plaza in Tel Aviv.

In my case it was a mix of both!
