I have been to this beautiful hotel many times - usually for birthdays, or other non-business stays.
The rooms (studio is the only room i've stayed in) are beautiful, bathroom is great (separate bath-tub/shower), beautiful design furniture and even a computer in the room with Free Internet (WIFI too).
Now, the employees weren't as nice as in the past - usually when they see I am Platinum they're a lot nicer and offer all kinds of (free) things.
I did receive a better room, so that was really nice (Studio, instead of standard room).
They offerend me lounge access for 250 shekels (even though as a platinum member they gave me and my wife access for free during our past visits). They told me it's really worth it - as it includes some food in the evening, and some snacks for breakfast.
What they didn't tell me, but what is written when you walk inside the lounge is the lounge policy: no one is allowed into the lounge under 18 years old. We had our one month old baby with us, and so we knew that we could only go to the lounge separately - so one of us would babysit.
Therefore we asked if they could give us a rate for one person, but they refused.
So we decided not to take lounge access at all. Instead we went for breakfast.
The price is 90 shekels if you order it at the restaurant, or 75 shekels if you order at the reception.
We went down for bkfst at 9.30 and there was less available. Also, the salads that were there (they have lots of things available) weren't fresh anymore. E.g. the tuna mousse on the top had a funny dark brown color, the same for the salads (egg salad), israeli salad, red beet (freshly cut, but again, looked old). The problem is that most of these items are not kept on ice, and even though the airconditioning is pretty high (low temp), it's not good enough to keep the food fresh and cold.
A nice gesture was to find tasty hight quality chocolates in the room in the evening and one bottle of minteral water.
In summary, a beautiful hotel, great shopping mall next to it, great gym (Holmes Place) free access (but no one under 18 allowed), but they could try to be a bit friendlier at the lobby and they should take into consideration that food will become bad if you don't have some kind of way to keep it cold. Also 75 shekels is not cheap for breakfast and therefore next time, i probably would have breakfast outside of the hotel....
unfortunately, as in my previous stays i was very impressed.
